There's a page on Facebook that's causing quite a stir at the moment!

Many users are outraged that this Facebook page even exists. Almost every minute, various police inspections are marked in the comments so that the police are informed about them. Status posts containing images of minors are published on the site itself. The status post itself is accompanied by a text such as: “ Lilly got a new top from her dad 🙂 What do you think of it? ” including a picture of a young girl wearing a black top. Another post reads: “ Verena is unsure, is this good clothing for a picnic? ” Below you can also see a picture of a very young girl wearing short shorts.

The site itself is full of pictures of minors!

The “user reviews” of the site also clearly show that this site is causing outrage. Here is an excerpt of the reviews:

  • Not recommendable. Pedophilic behavior and sexual portrayals of children and young people who most likely have no idea what is being spread on this site!
  • It couldn't be more obvious! How can a site like this even be online! Horrifying and disgusting.
  • This page needs to be deleted immediately, I don't understand why it still exists, the comments from the guys here are just disgusting.
  • ❌❌ Attention pedophiles! ❌❌ REPORT PAGE Minors are exposed without their knowledge and given perverted comments. No power to the child f***ers!

What kind of Facebook page do we see here?

We are familiar with the phenomenon that various activities occur again and again on Facebook, where pages are created on which photos of children are then SHARED. Namely those photos of children that were set to “ Public ”. Parents and grandparents are always shocked when these sites share their children's pictures on Facebook . They complain, they argue and threaten to file charges, and at the same time they become the victims of ridicule on their respective pages. Such Facebook pages look for pictures with children as subjects that have the privacy setting “Public” and SHARE them on the page . Facebook pages like this want to wake you up! They show parents what CAN happen if you don't protect the privacy of the pictures and share them “publicly”!

If you want such sites to disappear, then turn off the tap by no longer posting children's pictures with the status “public” .

In all cases presented there, it is the parents THEMSELVES who uploaded the photos and chose the “public” status. These sites do nothing other than share images as part of the “share” function on Facebook. The site shows what is possible on Facebook with images that have public status. It is up to you to ensure that these images disappear from the site: change the privacy setting! The moment you change the status from “Public” to “Friends”, the sharing is over :

WARNING! This is NOT the case with the page we are currently examining here !

This site does not publish or share IMAGES that have been shared “PUBLICLY” but instead steals these images and stores them . As a result, the admins create a new status post and upload these stolen images again.

In other words: If the actual OWNER DELETES the photo of his child in his profile, it will still remain on the checked Facebook page!

What can you do to prevent your own children's pictures from ever being published on such sites?

On this topic we would like to refer to the content of an article that we published some time ago.

Dear mommies, dear daddies, dear parents and grandparents!

Yes, we know it, children are wonderful and just a smile from them is the greatest gift they can give us. And every mommy and daddy has the most beautiful child on earth. And of course you want the whole world to see this.

image

And the easiest way is to publish these photos on Facebook, because you can see them straight away. And how great is it when other users LIKE your own child's pictures!

No! Thats not cool! Please stop posting these photos for everyone to see/publicly! Your children are not objects and legal and ethical reasons clearly speak against it!

Not only can your friends on Facebook see public images, but these photos can also be misused. These photos can simply COPYED REUPLOADED on other sites , as can be seen in this case. The whole thing happens WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT and children are subject to special protection.

Strangers can, and this is not an isolated case, engage in cyberbullying or child pornography on the Internet and they not only use illegal sources, but also collect photos from social networks such as Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp!

Have you actually asked your children if they even want this?

Parents have a duty to teach their children how to use the Internet and personal data on the Internet carefully. But how is that supposed to work if the parents themselves have already put their own child's life online in the form of pictures and status posts?

Our appeal!

Do not publish children's pictures on the Internet. Prefer to show the photos like they used to in photo albums etc. And if there is no other way, then at least make sure you have the right PRIVACY SETTING on Facebook and do not post the pictures “publicly”, but if you “have to”, then only “for friends” or even better by only tagging individual people (Custom setting).
