Status post as plain text

This notification is intended to encourage users or page operators on Facebook to act quickly. It should be clear at first glance that the alleged update link “coiffeur-jenny.ch” does not represent an official Meta page.

What happens when you click the link?

Here you will be redirected to a page that informs you about a temporary ban. You have to respond within 24 hours. If you click on the “Start” button here, you will be redirected to another page that has a fake login from Facebook.

Phishing!

If you enter your login details here as requested, they will be played into the hands of the fraudsters. They can then use the data to access your profile or your Facebook page or group and can use it for further fraud.

The fact that different names are repeatedly used for this scam does not change the fact that this is not an official notification from Meta .

Tip

If you are unsure whether a login page is real, you can try logging in with imaginary data, for example username: serfgerfxd@esrgrte.com , password: fgbvdrffgbcvfddg .

Sites like the one above sometimes require double entry, but you can use jumbled letters on this one too. If the input works, the data will not be compared and you can be sure that you have landed on a fake page!

Such fraudulent sites appear again and again with different names. In addition to “Standards Meta”, we are also aware of: “Facebook Support”, “Standards Meta” , “Server Network Registry Corporation”, “Social Network Registry Corporation”, “Fanpage Policy Issues” .

What do you do once you have actually entered your data?

If you run a company page or fan page on Facebook and have entered your data into such a form, please change your password immediately if this is still possible!

You should take the following measures:

Backup, restore or verify account

In the worst case, only Facebook support can help you get back to your site. Unfortunately, this can sometimes take a long time.
