1.9 million entries…
According to “Reuters”, Facebook deleted around 1.9 million entries in connection with the extremist groups Islamic State (IS) or al-Qaeda or provided them with warnings in the first quarter.
Facebook announced this on Monday, April 23, 2018 [Reference: Hard Questions: How Effective Is Technology in Keeping Terrorists off Facebook? ]. This is twice as many as in the previous three months. In addition, Facebook is publishing its definition of the term “terrorism” for the first time. Until now, it was not known which criteria would be used to classify status contributions as extremist.
The term “terrorism”
Facebook said terrorist is “any non-governmental organization that engages in intentional acts of violence against persons or property to intimidate a civilian population, a government or international organization in order to achieve a political, religious or ideological goal.”
