New Scam CLONED NOT HACKED!! ️ Attention!! Apparently almost all Facebook accounts are cloned. Your photo and name will be used to create a “new” Facebook account. (They don't need your password to do this.) They want your friends to add them to their accounts. Your friends will think it's you and accept your application. From this moment on, they can write whatever they want under your name. I have NO plans to open a new account!! PLEASE, IF WE ARE ALREADY FRIENDS, DO NOT ACCEPT A NEW FRIEND REQUEST FROM ME. (copy and forward) I don't have a new account, so please don't accept any new requests from me
What happens when scammers clone a Facebook account?
When scammers clone a Facebook account, it means they create a fake account that a real person's name and profile picture , but is operated by someone else . The scammers then use this fake account to deceive and exploit the real person's friends and contacts. For example, they can send fake messages or requests to obtain personal information, money or other sensitive data.
The consequences for the victim can vary depending on the type of fraud. In some cases, fraudsters may use the fake account to cause damage to the victim's reputation, for example by spreading false information or insults. In other cases, scammers may use the fake account to gain access to the victim's personal information or even their accounts on other platforms.
It's important to pay attention to suspicious activity on your Facebook account and act quickly if you suspect your account has been cloned or compromised by scammers. This may include changing passwords, reporting the fake account to Facebook.
How do you protect yourself from having your account cloned?
Since it is important for scammers to contact Facebook friends, the easiest measure here is to hide your friends list. You can only display these for yourself, or only for friends or specific groups of friends. If fraudsters do not have access to the friends list, cloning is usually not even worth it. If you discover that your own user account or that of a friend has been cloned, you can and should report this account to Facebook.
If you suspect that your Facebook account has been copied, you should take immediate action to regain access to your account. Contact Facebook to report the incident and restore your account .
