Synchronize photos between different online platforms more conveniently
To make this possible, Facebook would now like to set up an image transfer to Google's image service.
In Ireland, users can now export photos uploaded to Facebook to Google Photos. This should be possible for all Facebook users worldwide at the beginning of 2020. Data exchange should be as straightforward as possible for users. You don't have to download the images first and then upload them to the other platform. After the service is set up, data exchange occurs automatically and directly between the platforms.
Users have uploaded numerous photos to Facebook over the years. Although it is nice to receive likes and comments on the photos here, the platform is not intended as an elegant picture folder. Many users will probably like an export to Google Photos, as it is now one of the most popular image services.

Multiple export destinations in the future
As part of the Data Transfer Project, Google, Facebook, Apple and Microsoft, among others, agreed in 2018 to offer users simple solutions for exchanging data between different platforms. According to Facebook, transferring images to Google Photos is only a first option.
Further export destinations will follow and will be possible for both photos and videos. It is currently unknown whether an export of Instagram images or a reverse export from Google Photos to Facebook is in the works.
Cross-platform usability
“Anyone who has accounts and profiles on various online platforms knows the circumstances when they want to transfer content. Thanks Facebook, exporting images to Google Photos is a first step towards cross-platform usability. But that shouldn't be the end of it. They still have to prove whether the big data companies are really serious about the convenient movement of data between their virtual kingdoms,” says t3n.
