If video and voice calls on Facebook also annoy you, you can turn them off. We'll show you how to do it:

If you actively use Facebook Chat, your friends can contact you at any time via video and voice calls. This means that you have the option of talking to someone on the phone via chat.

The only question is: Do you want to be reachable via video or voice call at any time?

Many users simply don't feel like having to make a phone call or even a video chat just because someone calls spontaneously. Sometimes it just doesn't fit, then you can block the telephony options via the chat.

How to deactivate the function:

Unfortunately, you cannot deactivate the function directly in the Messenger app. To do this, you first have to activate the chat windows in the bottom right corner of the browser version. Then you have access to the gear - the settings. There you will find the option to deactivate video/voice calls.

This means you will no longer receive video calls from people who try to call you via your browser, but you will still be able to receive private messages. If you disable the feature this way, a window will open. Here you can choose how long you no longer want to receive video calls.

You can find more information about video chat and video telephony in the Facebook help area and the Messenger help area .
