Well, have you seen this new Facebook message yet? The one that claims Facebook will soon demand money from us and we need to quickly post a message to stop it? Or that “tomorrow” the new Facebook rules will begin where Facebook can use our photos? And when we share this message, our profile icon turns blue and Facebook remains free for us. Sounds crazy, right? And that's it, because it's all nonsense!

Facebook will start charging this summer?

The content alone is written in such a confusing way that you still can't understand it even after reading it three times!

Screenshot on Facebook of the hoax / According to the message, posting a specific message on one's wall would prevent this scenario and turn the profile icon blue. The message also asks users to withdraw their consent to Facebook's use of their data.

It is official.

Signed at 10:33. It will even be broadcast on television. Facebook will start charging this summer. If you copy this to your wall, your icon will turn blue and your Facebook will be free for you. Please pass this message along; If not, your icon will be deleted. PS:
Mine turned really blue.

Don't forget that tomorrow starts the new Facebook rule (aka...new name, META) where they can use your photos. Don't forget that the deadline is today!!! I do not grant Facebook or Facebook affiliates permission to use my images, information, messages or posts, either in the past or in the future. With this declaration I inform Facebook that it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute or otherwise take action against me this profile and/or its contents. Violation of privacy can be punished legally. NOTE: Facebook is now a public institution. All members must post a note like this. If you want, you can copy and paste this version. Failure to post a statement at least once tacitly authorizes the use of your photos and the information contained in profile and status updates.

Let's get this straight

Facebook doesn't charge a fee to use Facebook, because that's what they mean by "Facebook will start charging this summer."

Screenshot Facebook: No, we do not charge a fee for using Facebook. “Facebook will start charging this summer”? All nonsense!
Screenshot Facebook: No, we do not charge a fee for using Facebook.

Facebook itself writes: “No, we do not charge a fee for using Facebook. “. So don't panic, folks. This news is pure fiction. (You can HERE )

And what about the part about Facebook just being able to use our pictures and info?

Well, that's not entirely true either. Sure, when we create an account, we agree that Facebook can use some of our content. But that doesn't mean they can just do whatever they want. You still have rules to follow.

Oh, and by the way, just because you post a message on your wall doesn't mean you can change the rules. Those terms we agreed to when we created our accounts? They still apply no matter what we post.

Now let's be honest: such news is nothing more than fake news. They only make us worry and spread misinformation. So before you hit share next time, take a moment to check the facts. And remember, if it sounds too crazy to be true, it probably is.

There are several points that should be clarified here:

  1. Facebook has never charged fees for using its platform. Such claims are usually part of misinformation. So Facebook won’t start “recharging” this summer!
  2. Changing the color of your icon or copying and pasting a specific message does not affect your privacy settings on Facebook. Control over your data and privacy on Facebook comes through your account settings, not the content you post.
  3. Facebook's terms of service state that they have certain rights to the content you post on their platform, but these rights are typically limited to the provision of Facebook's services. Posting a status message asserting your rights does not affect these Terms.
  4. It's always a good idea to be skeptical of messages that ask you to copy and paste and share them with others. This is often false information or hoaxes.
  5. Regarding ads on Facebook: Facebook is funded by advertising, so it's unlikely you'll be able to get rid of them completely. However, you can adjust your ad settings to control what types of ads are shown to you.

This type of hoax can cause confusion and misunderstanding among users. It is always advisable to be informed and cautious when using social media platforms and not to be misled by misinformation. Remember that reputable information should come directly from the company's official website or from trusted news sources.
