This status report revives the debate about the Danish dog law: a text is currently being distributed on Facebook in both German and Danish that reports on the euthanasia of two dogs.
At this point we have not been able to find any official announcements or press releases from Denmark that relate to this content. Therefore, we first describe the status messages on Facebook.
On March 24, 2017, a message appeared on a Danish private profile with a public status that the author's dogs had been picked up by the police. Here you can read that the author is looking for a specific witness and therefore the message should be shared:
DEL DEL DEL GERNE…i går kom 5 betjente og hentede mine dogs, which was in episode d. May 10, 2016, before my dogs asked for a smaller dog to come to the prince of Sct.
(Content: “Share Share Share please. Yesterday 5 police officers came and picked up my dogs, it was about an incident on May 10, 2016, when my dogs were attacked by a small dog at a lake.
In the text you now learn that a report was made as a result of the incident, in which it was said that these two dogs had attacked the little dog and the owner had beaten the woman. However, the author of the status report denies this and is now looking for a third person who witnessed the situation. So much for the call for witnesses, which was shared several thousand times. There is also a German-language version with the sentence “ 2 German Shepherd dogs confiscated in Denmark on March 24, 2017 according to the biting paragraph of the Danish dog law. ” is initiated..
Euthanized
On March 28, 2017, Fair Dog.Dk – German published on its own Facebook page that the two dogs had now been euthanized. According to the status report, this decision was made by the owner after consultation with Fair Dog because one of the two dogs became ill in captivity.
Fair Dog describes the incident:
Euthanized March 27, 2017
🙁
It was a case from May 2016 when a small dog attacked the two dogs.
Then last week, 5 police officers came to confiscate the two dogs because the Russian owner told the police that the two dogs had attacked her little dog. But there was a witness to this incident, so the owner tried to find the witness through Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Foreningen.Fairdog/posts/1443337622397565Yesterday one of the dogs at the shelter became ill and the police called the owner because the dog needed surgery. But they also thought it would be a waste since the dogs would be euthanized anyway. The dogs were 10 years old and had never been separated from their owners. The chance for them to survive in a shelter for several months or years was not good and rather slim. On the one hand, because of the keeping and care of the dogs in the shelters and because there is also the reverse burden of proof in biting incidents. Furthermore, experience shows that the Danish police work very slowly in these cases. The owner consulted with Fair Dog Denmark and decided yesterday to have both dogs euthanized at the police station so that they could be spared this suffering in their final years. Our chairwoman met the two dogs four years ago and describes them as socially acceptable and good-natured. Again two dogs had to lose their lives due to the Danish dog law and due to unproven suspicions and the reversal of evidence.
As always, we remind you that this law also applies to German dog owners who spend their peaceful vacation there.

This information now results in two additional status reports that are frequently shared.
The obituary
These status reports are a kind of obituary from the dog owner for his dogs. The original is written in Danish, the other (and much more widespread) version reproduces the content in German. The German version reads:
The German Shepherd dogs Gaius and Aldo, which were confiscated in Denmark on March 24, 2017, were killed due to the biting paragraphs of the Danish dog law.
After Aldo and Gaius were sentenced to death by the Reich Police, the owner of the dogs gave his consent to the execution.
Here are his last words to his dogs:
“My name is Brian Birger Brusch Rohde I address my dogs
Hey Gaius, Aldo, that was the last way because we lost the case. Thank you for the last 10 years.
The Danish status report states:
Min navn er Brian Birger Brusch Rohde jeg giver lige order til mine hunde..Hej der Gajus her, the var sidste verse vi tabte say and now he vi i hundehimlen, vi siger tak for next 10 years,
Temporary problem
At this point, however, we have to point out a small timing problem with the two status reports, as the linked Danish status report was written on March 28, 2017 at 6:34 p.m., but the German-language status text, which refers to the Danish content, was written on March 28, 2017 Published March 28, 2017 at 2:57 p.m.
What exactly causes this is not yet known. Ultimately, it can also be a simple republication or the text has already been published elsewhere by the author.

As already mentioned at the beginning, we do not yet have any official notifications or press releases from Denmark regarding these status reports. However, on this explosive topic, we would like to refer you to two guest articles that shed light on the Danish dog law in two different ways.
