“Red Bull is called that because it has bull sperm in it,” has been the rumor since the drink was also available in Germany.
And that's quite a long time ago, because "Red Bull" appeared on the European market in 1987, with a little delay in Austria and Germany because there were disagreements about the ingredients. And this may well be the origin of the rumor: Strange ingredients? An unusual name? Is there maybe bull semen or urine in there?
Now, back in the author's youth, this was just a rumor that people told with amusement, but such old urban legends keep popping up "thanks" to the Internet, as a current query about this sharepic shows us:

Well... so there is a picture of a bull from which semen is apparently being taken, next to it is a picture of a bottle of bull semen and a picture of a can of Red Bull. Given this incredibly powerful evidence, we have to admit without envy: Bullshit !
The mysterious taurine
It is contained in every energy drink and is credited with miraculous things – TAURINE . Named after the place where it was found, or the animal in whose bile it was first found. Taurine is the Latin name for bull bile, Taurus in Latin, the bull, Tauros the same in Greek.
Statements appear again and again on the Internet that more or less credibly assure us that even today taurine is still obtained in the traditional way: from bull bile, liver, testicles or semen.
First of all, taurine is also found in the human body because humans are able to produce it themselves. The supposed performance-enhancing effect has not yet been proven, but an overdose can definitely lead to health problems. Good sources of taurine are fish, meat and dairy products.
And where does taurine come from?
Certainly not from cops . Of course, it could be that the company simply claims that, after all, they want to sell a drink (while running the highly secret sperm milking farms to produce Red Bull), but this would also be a pretty excessive effort, since taurine is also produced synthetically becomes .
Nowadays, taurine production takes place artificially in food laboratories. Raw materials of animal origin such as bull bile and testicles are no longer used. According to Uwe Krause, the quality manager at MGB, a leading European beverage manufacturer, even if you are vegan you can safely drink a drink containing taurine.
“But the PICTURES!?!?!”
Well, we'll explain that to you too.
This is really bull sperm. taken in a bull semen bank in 2013 The pictures were taken by Leonhard Foeger in Hohenzell Austria.
A “portion” of bull semen from the Simmental costs between 6 and 15 euros, which would make a can of Red Bull quite a bit more expensive.
Conclusion
Since 2015, a clickbait article has claimed on the Internet that Red Bull contains bull sperm, but the rumor was already around in the late 80s. However, it is completely baseless: the taurine it contains is manufactured artificially.
