The CDU election poster from 1991 is circulating again.
And once again we constantly receive questions about whether these demands were actually on the poster at the time:

End asylum abuse!
Finally process 40,000 asylum files
Consistently deport bogus asylum seekers
Change the basic law
Look what I found.
CDU election poster 1991! This is why the AFD is now defamed as “right-wing”!!!
The fact check
As colleague Andre already discussed, this poster is not a fake!
It is an official poster for the general election in Bremen on September 29, 1991.
Among other things, top candidate Ulrich Nölle also : “Eliminate the housing crisis”, “Equal opportunities for women” and “Strengthen economic strength” on other election posters.

Background: In the early 1990s there was also a sharp increase in asylum seekers in Germany due to the war in the Balkans and glasnost in the Soviet Union. The time is also known for the many attacks on asylum seekers' homes and the sharp increase in right-wing extremist crimes.
Many right-wing and right-wing extremist parties received support, and the CDU also went into the election campaign calling for tougher asylum laws. This was followed in 1993 by an amendment to the Basic Law, which restricted the right to asylum to those “politically persecuted”. The recognition rate then fell and by 2002 it was only less than 2%.
Of the 350,000 asylum seekers from the former Yugoslavia that Germany took in, the vast majority have returned to date, with the exception of 20,000 hardship cases from Bosnia-Herzegovina. As the number of asylum seekers declined, so did the success of parties with right-wing and right-wing extremist positions.
