Some things repeat themselves almost every year for us: organ dealers in white vans, supposedly renamed Christmas markets... and a week of darkness in December.

reported that the strongest solar storm in the last 250 years awaits us in December 2019, after which 90% of the sunlight will no longer reach the earth's surface: it will be quite dark for at least 6 days.

And actually: the message is actually on the website of the Russian broadcaster TVC !
According to this, plasma is supposed to shoot out of the sunspot called AR2192, which causes a magnetic storm that then heads towards Earth. This means that northern lights can be seen all over the world, but sunlight is blocked.

Interim information: The Earth has actually been hit by magnetic solar storms several times. However, this only causes power outages (which satellites, for example, are specially protected against), but in no way causes the sunlight to be darkened: a magnetic storm is not a sandstorm!

The sunspot

Sunspots are disturbances in the Sun's photosphere that can be seen as dark spots on astronomical images of the Sun. Most sunspots exist for less than 11 days, but a few specimens exist for up to 100 days.

Now let's take a look at the sunspot AR 2192. It seems to be a real miracle specimen, because it seems to for over 1,800 days , i.e. 5 years! The photos of the sunspot were taken in October 2014 .

The origin of the message

The Russian broadcaster doesn't provide a source for their information, so we'll just look for it ourselves, and since the sunspot was seen in 2014, we should take a look this year too.

Surprise: Back in 2014 it was claimed that the earth would darken for 6 days in December! And there was even a source: NASA supposedly announced this.

The Huzlers article even gives exact dates (from December 16th to December 22nd). During these three (???) days, sunlight will be darkened as the magnetic storm “swirls up cosmic dust and space debris.” Aha, so it’s a “sandstorm” after all?

Surprisingly, the magnetic storm in “Huzlers” does not trigger any power outages; NASA scientist Earl Godoy is said to have said that they would simply leave the electric lights on longer.

Surprise: It's a hoax!

The “ Huzlers ” site is by no means a serious news site, but rather so-called “fauxtire”: reports are presented like news, but are without exception hoax reports flavored with satire.

That's no big secret, because the site also writes about it:

MIMIKAMA
About us ” of the page

Huzlers is a Chicago-based satirical news blog focusing on celebrities, hip-hop and urban entertainment. A number of the satirical stories have been featured by many mainstream press organizations such as USA Today and BuzzFeed.”

Conclusion

It is unclear why a Russian broadcaster published such an old hoax report and transported it to 2019 without even briefly researching whether there was any truth to it.
We can therefore answer the question in the article from “connectiv.events”, which is: “ Did the media broadcaster TVC fall for a hoax?” We don't know... " answer: " But we do know. Yes, they fell for a hoax. And you too.
