A video shared on Facebook is causing discussions: the baby is said to be suffering from vaccine damage.

In the video you can see a baby who is obviously having some kind of seizure. It's just shortness of breath, the eyes are rolled up. The claim on the video is that the child suffered a vaccine injury.

It's this video:

The text is posted:

“To all parents, think carefully about whether you want this for your children. Vaccinations can be fatal.”

In the video itself nothing is said about a previous vaccination or vaccination damage, you can only hear the man saying that they need to get a prescription from the doctor so that the seizures stop and the baby can sleep through the night again.

What does the child have?

Back in March 2017, the video was prominently shared , a big supporter of raw food and opponent of vaccinations . The video distributed by Wolfe also shows that the baby had these seizures after being vaccinated.

What we see here, however, is that some parents are familiar with feverish attacks .

These are attacks that are usually related to a fever. These attacks usually last one to two minutes and can occur with any fever-causing illness, such as a cold, flu, or an ear infection.

Do children do this often?

Up to 5% of all children between 6 months and 5 years have at least one febrile seizure. Babies between the ages of 14 and 18 months are most commonly affected.

Is it dangerous?

Although febrile seizures may look frightening, babies and young children always recover very quickly and do not suffer any neurological damage. Such seizures are also not a sign of later epilepsy or other conditions with seizures.

Are fever attacks caused by vaccinations?

As the Center for Disease Control (CDC) explains , although vaccinations can cause fever, febrile seizures have rarely been reported. Flu vaccinations in particular, which are often cited as triggers by anti-vaxxers, tend to have the opposite effect: the child does not get the flu.

But to be on the safe side, there have been several studies into whether there is a connection between flu vaccinations and the risk of febrile attacks:

Summary

In the video you can see a baby having a fever. This looks more dangerous than it is, around 5% of all babies and toddlers have this at least once up to 23 months old.

There is no evidence or indication that this febrile seizure occurred after vaccination, nor is there any mention of vaccination in the video. In addition, feverish attacks after vaccinations are extremely rare and have no after-effects.

The statement that this is a typical consequence of vaccinations is therefore wrong!
