A sharepic has been circulating for some time now with the claim that you can see children locked up there who are supposed to be sold to “pedophile elites”.
Pictures of children in cages have been circulating for a few months now; the photos supposedly come from the Darknet.

It was only a matter of time before the fake news sling “News for Friends” picked up the images and spun an exciting story: US Marines and Navy Seals are said to have freed a total of 2,100 children, and the photos are also said to be from this campaign come.

If you take a closer look at the pictures, you will notice that some of the “children” seem to be quite mature. But it doesn't make it any better whether these are caged children or caged women: they are people in cages, and the question now arises as to where the photos come from.

The origin of the images
To make it a little more exciting: We even found the pictures in color. Even better: We even found the video from which the images come. Here is a small comparison of the black and white image with our find:

The images do not come from the Darknet, but from a film in which you can see the scenes:
They are still images from the film “ Pawn Shop Chronicles ” (German title: “Gangster Chronicles”), an action comedy from 2013 with Paul Walker, Matt Dillon, Elijah Wood and Brendan Fraser.
The images have been recolored to black and white, blurred, used only small sections and enlarged to give the impression that they are amateur images taken with a poor camera.
And the deployment of the US military?
Very bumpily, apparently translated using Google Translate, “News for Friends” writes:
“Pentagon Pedophile Task Force Timothy Charles Holmseth reports Navy Seals and U.S. Marines rescued 2,100 children from underground bases and bunkers in California.”
What is probably meant is “Pedophilia Task Force”, as it says in the article that “News for Friends” translated (“Pentagon Pedophile Task Force”). But neither we nor the dpa fact checkers could find such a task force, not on the official website of the US Dept. of Defense , not even through a normal search .
And the huge stakes? It won't take place until November 2019 and is a exercise by the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.

Conclusion
Using falsified screenshots from a film and a made-up story, sharepics and fake news articles are intended to generate clicks, likes and outrage. But neither the pictures nor the story are true.
