The alleged Amazon text message states that your account has been temporarily suspended and you need to update information. To do this you should click on a link. Warning: The link leads to a fake login page. Criminals use this to steal your user and credit card details!

What happens if I click on the link in the Amazon SMS?

You end up on a fake Amazon login page. If you enter your user data there, it will end up directly with the criminals! Next, personal information such as name, address, telephone number and birthday is requested and finally the criminals ask you to provide credit card details.

How do I recognize a fake login page?

You can recognize a fake login page by the internet address. In this case, the internet address is “sicher-info.live” and that is not the correct internet address of the Amazon login page!

When entering user data, always check whether you are on the correct login page!

How do I recognize a fraudulent Amazon SMS?

  • Link: A link in a message is always suspicious. Never click on links hastily.
  • Urgent message: The message asks you to take action immediately. If you do not follow the instructions, there will be consequences.
  • Check message: Check whether the information in the SMS is correct. To do this, log in to your Amazon account as usual.
  • Inquire: Contact the alleged sender of the message and ask if the message is genuine. Research the contact details online.

I have entered my details! What now?

  • Change your Amazon password immediately . Contact Amazon Support if you can no longer access your account.
  • Check whether orders have been placed . If so, contact Amazon Support and report the fraudulent order.
  • Contact your credit card provider . Explain that criminals have your information. Your card may need to be blocked.
  • Beware of scam calls . Criminals may pose as bank employees and demand the release of a payment under trumped-up pretexts.
