“If you ask me who blew something up in Crimea or Belgorod, I will tell you privately, yes, it was us,” said Dmytro Kuleba, the Ukrainian foreign minister, in a conversation with what he said was Michael McFaul.

Michael McFaul is the former US ambassador to Moscow. But what Kuleba didn't suspect was that it wasn't McFaul on the other end of the line, but the Kremlin-affiliated comedian duo “Vovan and Lexus” (Alexei Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov).

Kuleba's statements about the Crimean explosion

So far, Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the explosions on the Crimean Bridge. In Russia, however, Ukraine is blamed for this. Dmytro Kuleba's statement during the fake conversation with Vovan and Lexus is now accepted as a confession in Russia.

The video is therefore spreading rapidly in Russian media, such as on this page HERE .
Here you can hear that sensitive statement from around 7:30 a.m. onwards. The video has also been uploaded several times to YouTube, such as this one, where the explosive part can be seen and heard from minute 09:15.

Unfortunately, none of us speak Russian, but we could at least hear the words “Crimean” and “Private” in the places mentioned above. If any of you can speak Russian, we would be very grateful for a literal translation of the sentence!

Vovan & Lexus

The comedian duo caused a stir in the summer when they fooled politicians with fake calls. They pretended to be Vitali Klitschko to Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey and Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig. We reported HERE .

The two “jokers” Alexei Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov work for Rutube, a Russian video portal owned by “Gazprom Media”, a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned company Gazprom.

The proximity to the Kremlin is expressed in their pranks by eliciting negative comments about Ukraine from their interlocutors. If this succeeds, it will be not insignificant for Russian propaganda, reports the FAZ . Kuleba's statement about the Crimean explosions is probably a win for this strategy.
