A supposed bargain turned into a real letdown for someone interested in a smartphone on Thursday evening.
Fake cell phone instead of a new device
A fraudster tricked him and his girlfriend by giving them a dummy instead of a new device. The still unknown man advertised a new Apple smartphone in an online classifieds market for 500 euros. A 30-year-old from Stuttgart took up the extremely cheap offer and asked his 20-year-old girlfriend to drive to the parking lot of a discount store in Oberndorf. The device should be handed over and paid for there. In fact, two men came into the parking lot with a black polo with a Rottweiler car number and handed the device to the young woman when she paid the amount in cash. However, after the seller left, she realized that the device was just a dummy.
The police warn
The police recommend being extremely careful when dealing with such transactions. Time and again, special bargains turn out to be a flop because smartphones are defective or turn out to be dummies that are only used for display purposes at dealers or in stores.
