Caution! Fake competitions with alleged Milka gift baskets are circulating again on Facebook!

Note: The Milka brand has nothing to do with the competition. Scammers use well-known names to lure users into a trap!

The fake competition looks like this:

Milka gives free chocolate basket for the 117th anniversary…

The fact check

If you follow the status post, you will be redirected to a website that suggests that you can only win this basket today. The same trick was also used in earlier versions of the fake :

In the process you should answer three irrelevant questions:

You will then be pressured to reveal your email address as quickly as possible using a countdown:

What happens then?

In the end you will probably end up on another dubious page where you will find a competition form. However, this was not shown to us during our research. Instead we received the following warning:

Phishing!

Be careful with such competition promises! There are enough fraudsters on the Internet who use well-known brands and try to trick the user out of their data.

The stolen data is then sold on the Internet or you sign up to receive tons of annoying advertising affiliate program

Hands off!
