If you believe it... competitions on Facebook do not lose their appeal, but unfortunately the participants do not receive a Makita set at the end.
Tom reported on “The Best Deals on Amazon” – This site was also giving away a Makita set. But there was no profit. Now a similar Makita competition is back. The 'The Best Deals 1' page is also giving away Makita branded goods:

Only users from Austria, Germany and Switzerland are eligible to participate. This competition is not affiliated with Facebook and is in no way sponsored or supported by Facebook.
Legal recourse is excluded! The whole team wishes you good luck
But what do these two sides have in common?
Exactly. These are fake competitions. Users participate, but in the end there is no profit.
The conditions of participation are similar to those of other fake competitions like one egg to another:
- Like this page
- Like the post
- Double the chance of winning if you share the post
- Leave a Comment
It is extremely doubtful that there will be a real winner, because these competitions postpone the draw, the winner does not come forward or a winner is simply invented.
It is not uncommon for such competitions to simply take place again and due to the increased reach, even more users take part, who leave even more likes, write even more comments and you have probably already guessed it: giving the page even more reach.
Let's take a closer look at the site. A reputable competition organizer is transparent and offers detailed conditions of participation. Which doesn't apply to 'The Best Deals 1', because in the imprint we only find dubious information and copied content. If you Google the names you won't get any results. This doesn't seem very serious:

Even though the site has been around for a while (March 2018), this competition is the only entry. Previous posts were either deleted or did not exist. It is not clear who is really behind the raffle.
So why are there such fake sites?
So why does this competition exist? Of course there is a financial interest behind these sites. There are various ways you can profit from successful fake competitions. Everything is possible, from harmless page sales to nasty subscription traps. We have observed from countless fake competitions that these types of competitions are always very similar. In the first stage they shine with their easy participation. You should share and like a high-quality potential win. Anyone can do it, it's not a hurdle. This attracts people.
“Side sales” option
With the help of these attracting events the site is then “bred”. The site operator is working to increase fan numbers. At a certain point, this site will be for sale. The fans just wonder at some point what content they will see after the sale and why they liked this page.
“Affiliate” option
Once the number of participants reaches a certain point, the description of the competition will be changed. The terms and conditions of participation are supplemented and a link is usually included that you should visit. There are some affiliate programs waiting there through which the “organizer” collects commissions. In the harmless case, these are partner programs that provide the participant with a lot of advertising; in the extreme case, there is a WAP billing subscription trap hidden behind the link for visitors via smartphone (from which the organizer also collects commissions, of course). Every now and then you can find these sophisticated Facebook pages for sale on eBay.
No matter what else happens: the advertised profit doesn't exist! So remember: There is no one giving away these great Christmas presents, an Audi, 100,000 iPhones or 50,000 PS4s. No, they don't exist, these chivalrous benefactors of the Internet. They are more like tricksters who entice their users to eat out of their hands like click animals.
Result:
Anyone who participates here will help, willy-nilly, to “grow up” this fake site. Unfortunately, there is rarely anything to win. A reputable, transparent competition organizer with proper legal notice and conditions of participation should be taken into account.
If there is a link that leads to an external site, alarm bells should ring.
