It's summer and many families are looking forward to vacation. Who wouldn't be happy about free tickets to, for example, Heide Park at this time?

Various fake competitions for free tickets to amusement parks have been circulating for some time. Among other things, also for Heide Park .

The company is now pointing out on Facebook that this is a fake competition. There are currently no free tickets for Heide Park to be won. In a status post from Heide Park you can read:

At the moment there are fake competitions circulating here on Facebook and WhatsApp that promise you free tickets. Even though our logo can be seen there, these competitions have no connection to Heide Park Resort.

Protect your personal information: Do not take part in these competitions and share this note with your friends to warn them!

But it's not just Heide Park that is affected by this nasty scam. are also promised for Phantasialand and Legoland in order to attract participants.

What are these competition baits for?

The purpose of these competition baits is to attract participants. After a short quiz you end up with a so-called affiliate partner program.

In terms of content, this partner program can be similar to the competition - but it doesn't have to be. Most of the time it's about completely different promises than in the bait...

Seen in this way, this affiliate is not illegal, because it is a business model in which the respective provider compensates its sales partners through commissions. These sales partners are recognized by an identification code so that every newly registered participant in the affiliate competition can also be assigned to the sales partner.

By the way, the person who designs the bridge freely decides which partner program he uses as an exit. We also often find systems that read the participant's origin and device information and thus direct them specifically to different commission programs. Therefore, you can never say clearly which commission program will ultimately be used; in the worst case, you end up with dubious WAP billing stories or opaque subscription services.

transparency

If you want to take part in a competition, it is important to first check whether it is actually a current competition.

A transparent organizer has nothing to hide and will not lure you with anonymous winnings. A reputable organizer will offer detailed conditions of participation.

But this type of competition is not new either. The “business” with these competitions has been booming for years. Be it play towers for children, cars or branded clothing. Research is always worth it!
