Fakes with an announcement? In the past, after an attack, we have always observed that several false reports related to the topic were created.

This is not a secret that was only revealed to us, but actually showed itself every time. This is also the case in this case: on Saturday, April 7th, 2018, a car drove into a crowd of people in Münster. The rumor mill then boiled over, especially on social media, and the police had to issue several warnings to refrain from speculation.

It was already clear on Saturday: where there is a lot of speculation, there is also a lot of disinformation being spread! and that's exactly how it was. The frontrunner among the misrepresentations is a picture of the American comedian, satirist and author Sam Hyde, but other pictures were also placed in a false context.

Buzzfeed: These photos of the events in Münster are fake

Whether Sam Hyde, Gert Postel or the YouTube dance ban: in the first hours after the attack, several pictures appeared that were supposed to show the alleged perpetrator. However, all of these pictures are fakes! Buzzfeed has published an initial overview of the false images, where Karsten Schmeel writes:

Nevertheless, people share fake news and disinformation, especially on Twitter. In this article we collect the wrong information.

1. Some internet trolls share photos of Sam Hyde. He is an American comedian who is falsely accused by internet trolls of being the perpetrator of almost every attack.

By the way, Sam Hyde...

Romanian television did a particularly dirty job here and also showed Hyde as the perpetrator. By the way, they even knew here that the perpetrator was of Kurdish origin.
