This is a current Fakenews warning about fake posts on Facebook that leads to a dubious Bitcoin platform.

Internet users constantly stumble across fictitious news articles and so-called fake news on Facebook. There are usually reports of a “mega deal” on the television show “The Lion’s Den”. In this current case in combination with the “BILD” newspaper. The presentation of the articles is very reminiscent of that of well-known news portals, so that the fraudulent intent is NOT apparent to the consumer at first glance. The alleged news with titles like “ Platform is worth millions: 19-year-old makes mega deal on “The Lions’ Den ”” report incredible investment deals in the TV show “The Lions’ Den”.

In the fake news, Bitcoin Era presented as an incredible earning opportunity for consumers, which is said to have led to a lot of interest from investors. The creators of the article put words into the mouths of all the people pictured that they NEVER said.

What is behind this fake news?

Criminals use fabricated news articles to try to attract victims to the Bitcoin Era . You want to use the well-known TV shows to inspire trust and present yourself as a reputable company that offers consumers high chances of winning. All that is necessary is an investment of at least 250 euros on Bitcoin Era.

How can fake articles be identified?

At first glance, the websites look like many reputable news platforms, but upon closer inspection it quickly becomes apparent that they may simply be imitations. The dates are not correct and all links either lead to dubious trading platforms, to the same fake article or do not work at all. For example, a click on the imprint leads directly to Bitcoin Era , and a click in the navigation leads to the same article. The testimonials from alleged private individuals are not real.

The same applies to the linked trading platforms. Here, too, no information about the legal notice, terms of use or data protection regulations is available, and fictitious testimonials are displayed.

What happens when you invest?

According to experience reports, if you follow the instructions and provide data, you will receive a call to clarify everything else. Anyone who invests the 250 euros quickly makes their first profits and is sometimes encouraged to make further investments in order to be able to achieve higher profits more quickly.

Paying out the winnings later usually turns out to be impossible. In this context, users report demands for money that are necessary in order to initiate payouts. For example, a user states that he has almost 600,000 euros in the platform's account. In order to transfer the profits, a payment of almost 10,000 euros to the platform is necessary. Here, for example, tax regulations or similar are used as a pretext. Anyone who complies with the requests will also lose this money because the winnings do not exist. Caution is also advised when transmitting identification documents, because if they fall into the wrong hands, they can be used for further crimes under someone else's identity.

What can victims do?

Experience has shown that money transferred to dubious platforms is lost. We therefore advise you to contact your own bank as quickly as possible and initiate a chargeback of the amounts. Unfortunately, the chances of success are extremely low.
