Apparently Saturn Germany is once again giving away smartphones that they can no longer sell due to incorrect packaging. Our bullshit detector is working!
“Due to a warehouse clearance, we received 18x iPhone 7s, which can no longer be sold due to incorrect packaging.”
Have you always wanted to have an iPhone without having to pay for it? No problem, Saturn has more than enough. You can see it in every Saturn branch. And because there are so many of them lying around and Apple always packs them incorrectly, Saturn constantly gives away smartphones. Do not you think? We neither!
Nevertheless, thousands of Facebook users repeatedly fall for this type of promise and take part in fake competitions. Especially when these fake competitions are designed in such a way that you should actually notice that they are bullshit. So pale in pure grace before a classic of fake competitions, as we have known it for years and as it is used again and again - even now - to fool people:
Due to a warehouse clearance, we received 18x iPhone 7 (128GB), which can no longer be sold due to incorrect packaging. For this reason we are giving them away here on our site

Competition check!
Of course, this is a fake competition, but thousands of people take part. We will therefore show you again how a fake competition can be exposed:
- Site owner/contact person
- Imprint/page info
- Contact option

Organizer check
A look at the organizer information turns out to be very simple: reputable competition organizers provide transparent organizer information. All you have to do is look in the information section of a Facebook page. If you don't find anything there, then it is very likely that this is a fake organizer.
The examination of the Facebook page we have, which claims to be Saturn Germany, is no exception. You won't find any information about the organizer, nor any reasonable imprint. This missing information is basically enough proof that this is a fake competition. And of course that means: There's nothing to win here! Here, unknown site operators act according to their own motives, which have absolutely nothing to do with the alleged competition.
But why do you create such sites if everything is just a lie?
Unfortunately, one can only speculate about the true motives.
However, we have observed two reasons why such competitions are organized.
On the one hand, this would be page sales, and on the other hand, it would be an affiliate decoy.
“Side sales” option
It is important to the site operator to get as many “likes” as possible. So he is working specifically to increase the number of fans.
At a certain point, this site will be for sale.
The fans just wonder at some point what content they will see after the sale and why they liked this page.
Relatively harmless, things get uncomfortable when the site targets so-called “affiliates” when the number of fans reaches a certain level.
“Affiliate” option
From a certain point onwards, the description of the competition will be changed.
The conditions of participation are supplemented, usually a link is inserted that you should visit. There are some affiliate programs waiting there through which the “organizer” collects commissions. In the most harmless case, these are partner programs that give the participant a lot of advertising; in the extreme case, there is a WAP billing subscription trap hidden behind the link for visitors via smartphone (from which the organizer also collects commissions, of course). Every now and then you can find these sophisticated Facebook pages for sale on eBay.
No matter what else happens: the advertised profit doesn't exist!
There are rarely benefactors who have something to give away every day. Be it iPhones, expensive cars, PlayStations or kitchen appliances!
Be careful when it comes to putting your personal data on the Internet. Don't be fooled! First think – then click!
