Beware of fake shops: We repeatedly receive inquiries about dubious online shops that offer very creative clothing.

Colorful knitwear or unique clothes – sponsored advertising posts from clothing shops keep appearing on Facebook. Some users recognize their own works in the pictures and suddenly these shops disappear. A little while later three follow.

Of course that's annoying!

Show me your photos!

The creators of such fake shops are too happy to use other people's photos. Self-knitted fashion, which is posted in creative groups or on sites with DIY instructions, is particularly popular.

Of course, these unique pieces are not delivered. Either the buyer receives cheap clothing that doesn't even come close to the pictures or the scammer doesn't send anything at all.

Tip: If you want to protect your works, you should definitely add a watermark to your photos - ideally in the middle of the photo.

Organized crime

Many of these fake shops do not arise by chance. It is organized crime - at this point we would like to say a big thank you to our attentive readers.

A query of various fake shops using “who is” shows that they all come from the same entrepreneur:

Wanabone

fashion talents

Coincidence? Probably not. about the Hong Kong company “ChicV International Holding Limited” both via PayPal and in this blog entry , which gives a whole list of English-language fake shops.

How can I protect myself?

Before you buy something from an online shop you don't know, find out about the seller online. Pay particular attention to the imprint with the name and address of the company, the managing director or a sales tax identification number (UID number) as well as clear terms and conditions (GTC).

The next step is reviews. Rating profiles are common in online marketplaces. But dealers are also judged on shopping, price comparison and auction sites. But make comparisons here too, because be careful, sometimes reviews are fake.

If possible, use online shops you know and also pay attention to your gut feeling. Often, healthy doubts are simply pushed aside.
