The Paul & Shark Germany web shop? Hardly likely. This fake shop misuses a brand name for fraud purposes.

They spring up like mushrooms only to disappear again after a short time - fake online shops that steal the corporate design of well-known clothing or technology manufacturers.

Most of the shops are so well done that they look deceptively real at first glance, but in others there are very obvious clues if you know what to look for.

We received inquiries about this online store that offers designer clothing from Paul & Shark. You can reach it at pointomatic.de:

What makes the online shop suspicious?

What is noticeable is that every item has been reduced in price. Normally, reputable online shops do not offer all goods at dumping prices . From an economic point of view, this would also be a catastrophe, because how can these high prices for high-quality branded clothing promise a profitable business?

Unless the goods don't even exist. If you don't have anything to send, there are no costs...

You'll look in vain for an imprint There is also no point for the terms and conditions . If the provider prefers to remain anonymous, you should become suspicious. A reputable seller has nothing to hide, especially not a designer.

Under the heading data protection conditions you encounter the next inconsistency:

The web address is pointomatic.de – So why is this suddenly about a website called radioicelive.de? The data protection regulations could well have been copied. However, the radioicelive.de site no longer exists.

Nevertheless, it has no place in another site's privacy policy.

If you look at the other categories, for example prices and shipping, you are suddenly confronted with a text in very broken German:

Spelling errors or poor translations could be an indication of a fake shop. / Screenshot by mimikama.org

Excerpt from the text:

…We are a professional online retailer and cooperate with EMS expression long-term, shipping order and delivery directly to your door. Please make sure you at home when the packages arrived.
All packages will be sent in a second box! …

Serious is different

If you want to order goods, you have to register. When it comes to payment, the only option is of course by credit card:

Not a good sign. Not only is the money gone, but the fraudster is in possession of the victim's credit card details and can now go on a big shopping spree himself.

Fake shop victims are not defenseless

The consumer advice center advises you to immediately ask your bank to reverse the payment if you have already transferred money to a fake shop.

Have your credit card blocked immediately.

This is often still possible a few hours after an online order.

With other payment methods, a payment can be reversed up to eight weeks after collection. The respective bank knows to what extent this applies.

In principle, all receipts from online orders should be collected and saved. This includes the purchase contract, order confirmation, emails and a screenshot of the offer.

Those affected can have the printed documents checked at the NRW consumer advice center and file a criminal complaint with the police.
