In addition to professionally designed advertisements on Facebook and Instagram, the criminals send you order confirmations and transfer requests on WhatsApp. This creates trust and conveys a feeling of accessibility. Don't pay and block the number, advises our cooperation partner Watchlist Internet !

How do the criminals operate?

When you order from wibois.com, you will be asked to send payment confirmation to “contact@wibois.com”. If you don't do this, the shop will contact you on WhatsApp and remind you to pay. You are assured that the goods will be delivered within 5 days of receiving confirmation of payment. Anyone who pays does not receive any goods.

If you ask wibois.com on WhatsApp where the delivery is, they will tell you that customs duties would be open. Don't pay these! Even then you will not receive any delivery. The criminals continue to stall you and invent new reasons why your delivery hasn't arrived yet. You will be asked to make further payments until you see through the fraud and stop transferring anything.

How do I recognize fake shops?

  • Price: If the prices are significantly cheaper than in other shops, you should be careful. It is most likely a lure offer!
  • Reviews: Search unknown online shops on the Internet and read reviews and ratings. You may already be warned. Even if you don't find anything, you should be careful. You could be the first victim.
  • Payment: Stay away if you can only pay in advance. Always check the payment options in advance. Fake shops very often claim that different payment options are available. When paying, only advance payment is offered - a typical procedure for fake shops!
  • Imprint: Check whether an imprint exists and what information can be found there. If there is no imprint, it is fake. Otherwise, you should check the information carefully. Well-made fake shops falsify company data. Do your research: Does the company actually exist? What is at the specified address? Some of the fake shops even provide a commercial registration number (HRA or HRB). For companies from Germany, you can search for it at handelsregister.de and find out whether the number exists or whether it belongs to another company. You can check Austrian company data in the Chamber of Commerce's Companies AZ .
  • Availability: Is the product sold out everywhere else and only available in this shop? Then it's fake!

I have ordered – what can I do?

  • Contact your bank. Maybe the money can be refunded. However, experience shows that the probability of success is low.
  • Report the contact if you have been contacted on WhatsApp. Also block the number so that the criminals can no longer contact you.
  • Report the fraudulent advertisement to the social network. At Saferinternet.at you will find instructions on how to report contributions to the respective network.
  • Report it to the police.
  • Beware of other scams. The criminals have your data and will probably try to rip you off with another scam at a later date.
