As the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office is currently reporting, the so-called “Movie Money” is increasingly in circulation!
Counterfeit money: There are currently an increasing number of counterfeit 10, 20 and 50 euro notes of the so-called “Movie Money” in circulation in Lower Saxony. The false notes are printed specifically for film and television recordings and look deceptively real at first glance. The State Criminal Police Office expressly points out that the use is not a trivial offense, but rather a criminal offense.
How do I recognize such a fake?

Tilt: You can check additional safety features with a tilting movement of your wrist:
In the hologram on the front of the banknotes of the Europa series, rainbow colors move up and down when tilted, or € symbols circle around the denomination (100 and 200 euro banknotes) at the top of the hologram strip. In the hologram patch of the first series, concentric circles move inwards and outwards.
In the value number at the bottom left of the Europa series notes, a light bar moves up and down. The color of the number changes depending on the viewing angle. € symbols can also be seen on 100 and 200 euro bills.
The shiny stripe is visible on the back of the Europa series banknotes.
On the back of the 50 to 500 euro notes from the first series, the value number at the bottom right changes color.
