The claim
The police in Bremen allegedly arrested a Ukrainian who was in possession of a Stinger missile that had previously been delivered to Ukraine by Germany.
Our conclusion
The audio of the video comes from another video, and the police do not have any reports that Ukrainians were arrested in Germany with weapons that had previously been delivered to Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine has been going on for months. Germany is also providing military support and, according to the federal government, already delivered 500 “Stinger” surface-to-air missiles to Ukraine. But now Russian officials and social media users are spreading
Stinger anti-aircraft missiles
Accordingly, the Bremen police arrested Ukrainians who were trading in “Stinger” anti-aircraft missiles. Apparently these are the same missiles that were previously delivered to Ukraine from Europe. Similar reports also say that the weapons were offered in an online shop and that journalists discovered that Stinger missiles were originally intended for the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, but then ended up on the black market. video is often distributed that is intended to provide evidence of the claim.

In the 7-second video you can see a Stinger missile lying on the ground, and someone off camera says, “ Put down your cell phone, you don’t have to film something like that .” This exact video is often shared on social media.

Bremen police speak of a false report - there are no media reports
The Bremen police consider the authenticity of the video to be extremely questionable and deny that an operation as seen in the video took place. “This is a hoax. The Bremen police have nothing to do with this video and have not arrested any Ukrainians who were dealing in weapons,” one could read early on on the police’s own Twitter account .
Presumably because the alleged message is also circulating in English and in channels run by Russian Putin supporters, the officials had already described it as “fake” in English on Saturday (September 17, 2022). However, they were unable to contain the spread.
The German Press Agency (dpa) also reports that some social media posts that attempt to portray the arms trade as real refer to reports that were published in connection with the alleged arrest. However, such reports are nowhere to be found, although in this exceptional case one would expect that many media outlets would have already reported on it.
Video with incorrect soundtrack
According to the police, a false audio track was placed over the video, the origin of which is unclear. You can then hear a voice saying: “Put your cell phone down, you don’t have to film something like that.” This audio track originally comes from an older video that was published on YouTube in January 2022 and shows police officers during an operation in Greiz, Thuringia .
From second 12 you can hear the soundtrack used in the video above:
Russian news is also spreading the false news
The fake video was also shared by Russian officials on Twitter. Russia's deputy UN ambassador Dmitry Polyansky commented on the video circulating on Twitter with the words that the "Western ex-partners had been warned about such a threat to their own people." However, they are blinded by Russophobia. The deputy ambassador did not respond to comments that the alleged report had been officially denied. The false news seems to fit too well into the Kremlin narrative of supposedly dangerous Western arms deliveries.
