Thousands of users are currently taking part in a competition on the “Family Happiness” page on Facebook!
Given this large number of participants, it is clear that a large proportion of users are suspicious and have sent this competition
Apparently there was a misunderstanding by the “Familienglück” editorial team (which one is not known) and the “Spielhaus” competition is being restarted. But not only that. Now there is no longer just ONE playhouse to win, but TWO! To do this, the user must “SHARE” and “COMMENT” the amount and also send a message with the word “Participate” using the Facebook message function!
This is what happens when you send a message!
As soon as you enter “participate” in the “message” you will receive an automated response with the following content:
The message sent by a “BOT” is:
Hi Tom!
In order for your participation to be valid, please take part in our competition via our link http://bit.ly/SpielhausDE
Kind regards,
Lena from Familienglück
Why via message?
It's simple: This means that page owners don't have to post a link in their status report that could be viewed as spam by Facebook. In this respect, the status message survives longer.
As soon as you follow the link, a website opens and the user is then supposed to reveal various data about themselves:
During our research, however, you were not redirected to a competition for a “GAMEHOUSE”, but rather to a competition for an iPad Air 2
No matter what “maybe” you can win here, you have to pay attention to the “FINE PRINT” because it says here:
Yes, I agree that the organizer, the main sponsors and qualification sponsors may contact me by email, post and/or telephone about offers from their respective business areas and that the data will also be passed on to these sponsors for this purpose.
On the Family Happiness page, the “INFO” category was completely ignored. The owner didn’t even leave a “contact” or even a mandatory “imprint” here!
Our checklist for dubious competitions on Facebook:
- Users are forced to “like” and “share”.
- there is no (credible) imprint
- no conditions of participation
- no contact option
- no correct company available
- Page has only existed for a very short time
- No winners will be announced
- Prizes are provided by sponsors who “do not wish to be named”
- The prizes are advertised with copied images from the Internet
- For (apparently) well-known companies, look for the blue verification check mark often present behind the page name in the cover image
So once again it's about trading your private data!
What most people don't realize here is that this is about YOUR DATA. In other words, your data is fed into a database and the respective participant can then access a number of ADVERTISING EMAILS, ADVERTISING CALLS and much more. "be happy"
But not only that!
In most cases, such user data is also sold. Such a data set can then earn the seller a few euros.
… data collector and lead generator
We have often found EXACTLY THIS method, just with other vouchers as a lure. In addition to Proleagion, other lead generators also collect data using the same method - much to the annoyance of the companies used as decoys. So far we have mostly noticed Proleagion, adpublisher, red lemon media GmbH, Lead Spot Media, 7sections GmbH and Planet49.
KEEP AWAY FROM COMPETITIONS like this! Nobody has anything to give away.
An AUDI was recently raffled off on Facebook using the same scam. Here you can read what happens if you fall into the trap!
