This is not an everyday occurrence: some households in Italy received wine free of charge – from the tap!

In the Emilia-Romagna of northern Italy, specifically in the town of Castelvetro di Modena, the residents were amazed when they turned on the tap and instead of the expected water, wine actually flowed from the tap. Reason for this: A technical defect during filling.

You can watch the “miracle” here:

According to the YouTube channel “ Gazetta di Modena ” it is Lambrusco Grasparossa wine – real wine connoisseurs probably tasted it straight away!

The winery even apologized for the incident on Facebook:

Meaning in German:

“Due to a defect in the valve of the washing circuit of the bottling plant, Lambrusco Grasparossa came out of some taps in the Settecani district this morning.

The problem was solved immediately. The accident did not pose any hygiene or health risks: it was wine and it was ready to be bottled!

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

Not too many of those affected probably found it unpleasant, as you can see from the various postings on Facebook, because after all it was wine that was already ready to be bottled, and some residents are said to have even bottled the wine in advance.

Elsewhere in Italy, however, wine flows from a fountain!

Abruzzo , a region of Italy located east of Rome, there is Caldari di Ortana . has actually been bubbling there since 2016 , from which both locals and tourists can drink red wine for free at any time of the day or night!

Wine lovers should therefore go to Caldari di Ortana instead of waiting for a (happy) coincidence like in Castelvetro di Modena. 😉
