Who doesn't know the dubious advertising calls! Calls from alleged 'finance experts from the financial portal' are particularly annoying. They claim that an account has been opened with them. Behind these calls there are often attempted scams and an attempt to make fraudulent trading platforms attractive. But who are these “companies”, what do they want, what dangers lurk and how can you protect yourself?

Who are these financial experts?

These 'financial professionals' pose as legitimate representatives of financial institutions and are actually engaging in a form of fraud known as 'phishing'. Their goal is to obtain confidential information and use it to their advantage. Their scam is to apply pressure and create confusion by claiming that you have opened an account with them or that there is a problem with your financial situation.

What do these 'companies' want?

The goal of these scammers is to get your personal and financial information. They use sophisticated techniques to trick you into revealing sensitive information. They also often try to get you to use dubious trading platforms. These platforms are often fraudulent schemes designed to take money out of victims' pockets.

How do scammers get your phone number?

It is difficult to determine exactly how criminals obtain the phone numbers of their potential victims. It is suspected that they sometimes access publicly accessible directories and occasionally use information from data leaks. However, it is also possible that your phone number comes from purchased data sets, for example if you took part Facebook fake competition

What dangers lurk?

The dangers of these calls range from identity theft to financial loss. With enough information, these scammers can conduct fraudulent transactions, steal money from your accounts, and even steal your identity. The fraudulent trading platforms they promote are often designed to make you invest your money that you will never see again.

How can you protect yourself?

To protect yourself from such calls, it is important to be skeptical and never give out personal or financial information over the phone. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact your bank or financial institution directly. You can also block the numbers that are harassing you and report them to the relevant authorities.

Legal protection

These calls are prohibited. In many countries, unsolicited calls for advertising purposes are prohibited by law without the prior consent of the person being called. If you receive such calls, you should report them and consider legal action.

Vigilance and self-protection are more important than ever in a world where fraudsters are developing increasingly sophisticated methods to get their hands on our money and data.
