Data collectors are currently luring people with a series of fake Facebook pages that are supposedly looking for testers for well-known brands such as Foot Locker.
However, it is simply a bait to lure users to the data collectors' website. The Facebook page “FT SHOP” says that Foot Locker is looking for testers. Interested participants would enjoy a free pair of sneakers. But that's just an excuse.
The Facebook page cannot provide an imprint or any other information about the organizer. In addition, the site has only existed since January 22, 2020 and is mainly operated from Ukraine.

We take a closer look at the offer and click on the link provided. It takes us to an external website. The URL already shows that we are not on an official Foot Locker site. To receive the pair of sneakers, we are asked to answer a short survey. It doesn’t matter at all which answers we choose. Even if we answer all questions negatively, we “win” in any case. Why?
Because the purpose of the competition is not for us to win. As soon as we submit our personal data in the last step, the real organizers always win.
If the competition still gives the impression that Foot Locker itself is the organizer of the whole thing by the end of the question and answer session, the next step, “Get a gift,” will take us to another website. This is no longer about testing shoes, but about potentially winning a voucher for Foot Locker worth 250 euros.

The competition is “presented” by 7sections – a company that we have often encountered in connection with such competitions in the past. The deadline for entries is far in the future - sometime at the end of 2021 - and until then the organizer of course reserves the right to simply cancel the competition...
The participant has then already entered their data and is hoping for a possible win. The actual purpose of the competition was thus fulfilled.
This is why data collectors want your data:
The creators of the competition win in any case because we would have to enter our data and, as part of the raffle, agree to make it available to a number of different sponsors. They can then inform us about offers from their respective business area. And by informing we mean a deluge of advertising via email, telephone, push notifications and/or post.

We have seen this method several times before. Also with other vouchers as a lure. The following companies, among others, kept coming to our attention: Naturvel PTE. LTO, adpublisher, red lemon media GmbH, Lead Spot Media, Proleagion, Spar Advisor Ltd., Planet49, Green Flamingo, 7sections and others.
Conclusion:
The fact that Foot Locker is looking for testers for its products is just an excuse to lure users. Foot Locker itself has absolutely nothing to do with this competition.
It's just a matter of collecting your data and selling it to sponsors. So you pay indirectly with your data in order to be able to take part in the competition and to be showered with advertising. It is questionable whether there is actually anything to win for you.
Stay away from such competitions!
