As a rule, the names of Federal Councilor Karin Keller-Sutter and fedpol Director Nicoletta della Valle are misused in these scam emails. However, the names of the fedpol management were also used: Eva Wildi-Cortés, René Bühler, Yanis Callandret, Stéphane Theimer, Emre Ertan, Simon Spoerri and Christine Caron.
A fictitious address from the Gmail email service is often used, for example chfedpolministere@gmail.com, service.eu.fedpol@gmail.com, bundeskritikamt.bka.de@gmail.com, fedpolswitzerland.ch@gmail.com.

In most emails, the senders threaten to initiate criminal proceedings against the recipients because they have visited websites with child pornography content. The senders request that you contact us and usually send attachments in Word or PDF format.
What to do:
- Do not open the attachments.
- Do not answer the email.
- Report the email to the National Center for Cybersecurity (NCSC) .
- To prevent further emails, you can mark the sender as spam and block them.
