If you cannot or do not want to pay this expensive price for firewood, you may look for cheaper prices for firewood online. But fraudsters also take advantage of this. At the Federal Association of Firewood Trade and Firewood Production. V. (BuVBB) is currently receiving many reports of fraud when purchasing firewood online. This is the reason why the BuVBB published a warning on its website.

BuVBB warns against fraud when buying firewood online

The Federal Association of Firewood Trade and Firewood Production eV warns of fraud when purchasing firewood online. Firewood is currently expensive, so many people are looking for bargains and find them online.
Cases of fraud are reported to us again and again. Interested parties paid for the wood they wanted in advance, for example by credit card or bank transfer, but did not receive the goods. We advise you not to pay in advance from unknown providers, but rather to order on account if possible or to pay in cash when the goods are delivered. The perfidious thing is that the fraudsters steal websites from reputable firewood dealers (identity theft) and use them to make the customer believe they are safe.

Dealers in our association are also affected by the scam.
That's why we filed several reports with the criminal police. Our advice: Only buy from reputable dealers you know. our verified member companies HERE

The following fake shops were reported to us:

top-brennholz.com
schiltach-brennholz.com
wald-brennholz.de
feuerholz-energie.com
Besteronlineshop.com
Bestes-feuerholz.com
Topholzenergie.com
Plessner-Holz.com
Bestepreis-Shop.com
Pluriholz.com
gutgrillt.com
Feuerholz-fabrik .com
qualityfirewood.com
die-holzhandlung.de
heater-holz.com
holzti.com
mkw-energieholz.com
agide-boutique.com
goodfirewood.com

Fraudsters advertise classified ads on Facebook under the name “ Holzbre Service ”. Here, addresses of unsuspecting, reputable firewood dealers are given as delivery stations (this is a so-called identity theft). The account numbers for advance payment transfers change constantly. If you pay something, your money is wasted.

Another fraudster advertises under the alleged company name “Brennholz-Service” and is very aggressive in order to get money in advance.

The following dealers offer offers on their website without a valid imprint and are therefore considered questionable or dangerous by us:

– woodgoldspzoo.com
– dilikasab.com
– haufeltd.com
– globexlevallc.com
– fxtradespolkaakcyjna.com

How can you recognize fraudulent websites?

Our tip:

– The legal notice is often missing or not legally compliant.
– Offers for firewood reflect a good price (special offer) or advertise immediate delivery.
– Order correspondence often takes place via WhatsApp or only by phone or Facebook.
– Deliveries are supposedly made even when they are at a great distance from the customer and the customer is made to believe that there is a delivery point nearby.
– Bank details for advance payments are abroad
– Telephone numbers do not match the location of the provider
– Contact details do not match the website shown because it was stolen.

Be careful! The damage reported to us is enormous.

You can recognize the fraudsters based on a small, simple formula based on 3 characteristics:

1. The wood is offered at a supposedly unbeatable price and is well below the market prices of other dealers.
2. The retailer advertises immediate or fast delivery with free nationwide delivery.
3. The retailer requires payment in advance so that you can get this “bargain” and does not allow any other payment method.

If these 3 characteristics come together, there is a high probability that it is a fake shop.

If you have already become a victim of a fraudster, be sure to report it to the police!
A message to the consumer advice center at https://www.verbraucherzentrale.de will also help to put a stop to these fraudsters.

Please refrain from calling our office. Due to the volume of calls from injured parties, we are currently no longer able to accept them. You can send us reports about new scammers and their fake shop pages by email. Here too we would like to point out that we cannot answer all messages, but we will include your report in our fake shop list.
