The woman was contacted by phone on November 11, 2022 by a fraudster who posed as an employee of her bank. The unknown person told the victim that suspicious transactions had been detected on her account.
In order to check this exactly, the serious-looking man asked her to download a program onto her computer. This would then give him direct access to your computer and allow him to make the necessary settings. The 33-year-old did this.
Fraudster accessed account
The fraudster was now able to access the Rostock woman's account and made several transfers. This caused the woman damage of around 19,000 euros.
After the victim noticed the fraud, she immediately informed her bank and the police. Thanks to quick and intensive police measures, the money was secured in time. The criminal police's investigation into this case is not yet complete.
