A 35-year-old has fallen victim to fraudsters on the Internet. The woman clicked on an advertising film for supposed investments on a video platform. She landed on a website and was asked to provide personal information for more information.
Scammers pose as financial advisors
Said and done. The next day, the 35-year-old received a call. In order to be able to invest her money, the alleged financial advisor gave her precise instructions. For example, she should open two accounts with foreign banks or a payment service.
Finally, the supposedly first investments were made and the woman received information about the “development” of her investment. Further instructions and various money transfers followed. Payments for alleged taxes and insurance were also due before the “capital gains” could be paid out to her.
The 35-year-old invested almost 16,000 euros, then the supposed financial advisor stopped calling. The contact broke off. The woman lost her savings to fraudsters. Now the police are investigating.
