Of course, pet owners know the pet supplies store Fressnapf.
It's all the better when there's something to win here. But be careful! Not all competitions that appear in the name of Fressnapf actually come from this company.
Fressnapf Germany warning about fraudulent fake competitions on Facebook:
The article contains some tips on how to recognize that a competition does not come from Fressnapf:
- Bad picture quality
- Inappropriate colors
- The sender is not an official Fressnapf profile or partner of Fressnapf
- Incorrect spelling
- Fast data retrieval and gift promises
- No Fressnapf landing page
- Conditions of participation and legal notice cannot be found
Data collectors, subscription sales and co.
In most cases, data collectors are behind such fake competitions. The data entered will be passed on to third parties. These use telephone numbers, email addresses and home addresses to sell magazine subscriptions or to launch other spam.
A user brought this topic to our attention and also described her personal experiences:
“I took part in a competition supposedly run by Fressnapf on August 8, 2022. I had to provide my address, email and telephone number. I received calls from three different numbers on August 10th. I didn't go to one because it seemed Spanish to me, but I went to two others. Both of them wanted to sell me a magazine subscription, which I of course refused. They said I couldn't win anything without a magazine subscription, but I didn't want that and ultimately asked for my data to be deleted and for me to stop calling. There was another call today, but I didn't answer and I also blocked the numbers and reported them to the Federal Network Agency."

In Germany, phone numbers can be reported to the Federal Network Agency: HERE
In Austria, Rundfunk und Telekom Regels-GmbH is responsible for this: HERE
