The claim
“By the way, this is what it looks like after a #FridaysForFuture demo protesting against climate change. Credibility is different.”
Our conclusion
The currently shared photos from 2022 are unrelated to a current demonstration by Fridays For Future. The photos are from a high school graduation ceremony in Halle in 2019.
A false claim has been making the rounds on Twitter, Facebook and CO since March 26, 2022. The claim: “By the way, this is what it looks like after a #FridaysForFuture demo protesting against climate change. Credibility is different.”
However, the photos that were uploaded do not come from 2022 or from a FridaysForFuture demo . Such actions, with such false claims, are most likely intended to create sentiment against the FFF climate activists.
The post is making the rounds on social media as a screenshot or can still be found here on Twitter:

2019: There was already a similar false report about FridaysForFuture in 2019.
At the time, there was this claim circulating that these photos were supposed to show the last day of school in 2019. We reported about it here.

Fact check
The origin of the pictures : These pictures actually came from 2019. They show the Ziegelwiese in Halle (Saale) after the graduation ceremony .
As the website “ You are Halle ” reports, there was a lot of rubbish to be removed, as in previous years, but this was done in half an hour by GHS cleaning staff the next morning, and there was also less rubbish than before More trash cans were placed there.
The intention of the post and photos shared on Twitter is clear:
“Young people don’t care about their own trash, so they shouldn’t demonstrate against climate change.”
However, it was not young people actively demonstrating at #FridaysforFuture in 2022, but rather celebrating high school graduates in 2019 who caused the garbage. So “whataboutism” is being practiced here: a group of young adults celebrates and doesn't completely clear away their trash in the evening, so the arguments of the young people demonstrating shouldn't be taken seriously since they themselves obviously don't behave in a climate-friendly manner.
Unfortunately, such arguments reduce the actual topic to absurdity, as happens again and again in heated discussions:
a part of a certain group does something, be it asylum seekers or young people, and the entire group is then condemned. You can do that, but it is not a reasonable basis for an argument.
