In response to the numerous inquiries we have received “frog symbol = Bill Gates contaminated products” and “mRNA vaccination in food” We thought for a long time, fought our way through the thicket of conspiracy theories and came to the following conclusion:

If you want to believe that for Bill Gates every product with a frog logo is a building block for his personal world domination or that our apples, potatoes and lettuce are secretly carrying vaccines, we will probably not be able to convince you with a fact check. And anyone who recognizes that these ideas belong more in a science fiction story will probably be more amused than alarmed.

We therefore decided to look at the whole thing with a satirical wink and have a little fun with it. Because if there's anything that annoys us, it's the fact that, despite all the educational work, so many people still swallow and spread such baseless claims without even thinking about it for a second. So sit back and enjoy the journey into a world where frog logos become dire warning signs and our food becomes secret vaccine suppliers!

It's currently a video that has now been seen thousands of times! Here are the first few seconds of the video as screenshots.

Lettuce heads, frog logos and Bill Gates: A satirical journey to the center of the pandemic conspiracy

Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen, get out your aluminum hats! We embark on an adventurous journey into the unlikely depths of vaccine conspiracy theories, where heads of lettuce secretly immunize us and a little frog turns us all into puppets of the almighty Bill Gates. Follow the frog!

The green palate of health: vaccinations in lettuce heads?

The latest craze among conspiracy theorists is vaccination with lettuce heads. Yes, you read that right. Forget the needle, the syringe, the plaster afterwards. In the new normal, it is said, you can get vaccinated by simply taking your daily vitamin C.

Don't worry about the injection - just eat another head of lettuce! There it is – the next evolution in medical science. Doesn't it feel like you're floating above the clouds... or is it just dizziness?

Vaccine proteins in food: the new recipe against pandemics?

The rumor mill is churning. Accordingly, vaccine proteins should soon become part of our food in order to contain pandemics. In the future, the daily portion of spaghetti Bolognese could be served with a pinch of COVID-19 antibodies. Imagine your mother shouting: “Don’t forget to eat your spinach, it’s rich in iron and COVID antibodies!” Mamma mia, what times we live in!

The science of genetic engineering: food becomes vaccination

And as if that wasn't enough, food itself should become vaccines. The scientists - beaming with mischievous genius in their white lab coats - are reportedly working on using genetically modified proteins to make vaccines.

It's almost as if they said, "Why settle for a plain tomato when an improved one can protect you from deadly diseases?" It's as if they read Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" and thought, "Hey, this is a great idea!"

Bill Gates: the unexpected frog prince?

None other than Bill Gates is said to have founded the Rainforest Alliance. Yes, that Bill Gates - the man who brought us Windows, that operating system that is as reliable as a pot of tea.

And now he is said to have founded an organization that works to protect rainforests and promote sustainable agriculture. And in return it awards a seal with a frog to certified companies. Maybe this is just another attempt to make the heads of lettuce palatable to us?

Bayer and Monsanto: Playing the hand of God?

It is said that the Bayer company and the company it bought, Monsanto, manipulate the genetic code and interfere with the order of creation. Like Frankenstein, who created a monster, they take the freedom to reshape nature according to their ideas.

Maybe some people just read too many superhero comics and thought, “Imagine if we could breed corn that could photosynthesize at night. Or genetically modified potatoes that pop out of their skins before cooking!” These are strange times we live in, my friends.

The frog that manipulates our genes

And finally the symbol that ties all these crazy stories together: the frog. Anyone who buys a product with the Rainforest Alliance frog logo is allegedly manipulating their genes. Maybe we'll all become human-frog hybrids, ready to do Bill Gates' bidding.

Maybe we'll make do with flying and sitting on water lilies and maybe jump into the nearest pond under the full moon and sing the frog's song. Croak, quack, quack.

And so we come full circle: Are frogs molluscs? Are insects used in frog products? Will this reduce the population? Don't follow the frog, who knows what rabbit hole you'll end up in.

Conclusion : That's life in the crazy world of conspiracy theories. A place where lettuce becomes a medical revolution, a frog has the power to change our DNA, and Bill Gates, the man behind Windows, is in charge. And while we laugh at these theories and dismiss them as impossible, we should always remember that the truth is often the best satire. Because in a world that gets a little crazier every day, we can never be sure what awaits us tomorrow. So stay skeptical, stay vigilant and above all: don't forget your salad!

Now a small but nice fact check:

claimFact check
Vaccinations in lettuce headsIncorrect . Vaccines cannot be administered through consumption of food, including heads of lettuce. The correct dosage is not possible. Research is being carried out on genetically modified plants in order to be able to produce medicines and vaccines more cheaply and quickly, but the active ingredients are extracted and processed into medicines or vaccines.
In the future, vaccine proteins should be in food to contain pandemicsIncorrect . There are no valid scientific studies or official plans to integrate vaccine proteins into foods. While genetic engineering is used in vaccine development, there is no evidence to suggest that food will be used as a vehicle for vaccination. The plants used for this purpose are not suitable for consumption, even if they are edible in origin, such as lettuce.
Bill Gates founded the Rainforest AllianceIncorrect . The Rainforest Alliance was founded in 1987, long before Bill Gates became a philanthropist. However, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated $5,343,025 to the Rainforest Alliance in 2007.
Bayer, which bought Monsanto, intervenes in the order of creation and manipulates the human genetic codePartly correct . Bayer is involved in the development of genetically modified organisms, which alters the genetic code of plants, but not the human genetic code.
If you buy products with the “frog” on them, then our genes are being manipulated!Incorrect . The “Rainforest Alliance” frog logo stands for sustainable agriculture and has nothing to do with genetic manipulation. Consuming products with this logo has no effect on our genes.
Follow the Frog!, because it shows which products not only contain vaccines, but also molluscs and insects have been processedIncorrect . The Rainforest Alliance seal only indicates that a product uses ingredients from certified companies. It has nothing to do with the processing of molluscs or insects, nor is it an indicator of vaccines in food.

Why do so many people believe these claims?

From a psychological perspective, the deep insecurity that leads people to believe in such conspiracy theories can probably be understood as a type of psychological self-protection. Faced with an overwhelming amount of information and a rapidly changing world, people can feel like they are losing control. And this feeling of loss of control is deeply disturbing.

In the past, when the world was less connected and information less accessible, people felt safer. Life was perceived as more predictable and less influenced by unpredictable events.

Conspiracy theories offer some people a way to deal with this uncertainty. They offer simple answers to complex questions and provide a sense of control and predictability. Although the theories themselves can be frightening, they give people a sense that there is order to the world, that someone is in control - even if those controlling people are perceived as threatening or evil.

However, this security is deceptive because it is based on misinformation and ignores the real complexity and unpredictability of the world. The deep insecurity that she tries to combat is often only reinforced.

Our job as Mimikama is to help people deal with uncertainty and develop strategies to navigate a complex and sometimes confusing world. This can be achieved through education, encouraging critical thinking and supporting emotional coping strategies. Instead of fighting fears and insecurities with false narratives, we should learn to accept them and understand that uncertainty is a natural part of life.

Another personal note to those readers who don't want to believe the facts and us! A question:

Hey you, yes exactly you! You're scrolling through your news feed when you come across a wild claim that seems to turn your world upside down. I get it, it's crazy what you can find on the internet these days, right? And you know what? Sometimes you wish things were simpler. That the world would be divided into black and white and we would always know exactly what was true and what wasn't.

But the world is chaotic and complex, and that's a good thing. The Internet has brought us many great things, but it also has a dark side. It has created space for conspiracies, half-truths and rumors that spread faster than we can stop them.

I know it's comfortable to believe what suits us or what scares us. We all want to feel safe and understand what is going on in the world. But, you know what? Simply believing everything shared on the internet is like walking blindly down a street. It's dangerous and ultimately won't get us anywhere.

You might think, “But these people wouldn’t lie, they just want to help!” And maybe they think that too. But that doesn't mean they're right. They may have been deceived just like you.

That's why it's so important to always ask yourself: "Where does this information come from?" Try to check if there are any sources or evidence for it. Don't just be a consumer of information. Become a detective!

And if you're not sure, that's okay too. It is better to put a question mark behind something than to spread something false. This is responsible handling of information.

Believe me, I understand that this is not always easy. But it's so important. Because at the end of the day, we only have ourselves and the truth to rely on.

It's hard to believe how absurd this misinformation is! And it's almost unimaginable that these twisted views were shared thousands of times and received breathtaking comments.

Let's get this straight:

  • The frog has adorned countless products since 1987. This distinctive mark is the Rainforest Alliance certification seal.
  • What does this seal signal? It assures us that the product comes from farmers, foresters or companies that are committed to creating a world in which people and nature can live together in harmony.
  • Just to clarify: in 2020, only the design of the seal was adjusted - nothing else!
  • It should also be mentioned that the Rainforest Alliance received a donation of around $5 million from Bill Gates in 2007.
  • The spread of this misinformation is nothing more than naked scaremongering, a deceptive mix of disinformation and conspiracy theories that are becoming increasingly surreal.

It's high time we stopped scaring other people without justification.
