What the original post was about:

The Frufoo fake: Currently (March 24, 2018) over 10,000 Facebook users shared a status post without questioning it!

A status post was published on the Facebook page “Video Bot” in which it was announced that, after an online petition, “Onken” had taken pity and would bring the Frufoo product back onto the market. June 7th would be scheduled for this.

Anyone who grew up in the 90s usually got their sweets from a kiosk. Frufoo from Onken was also there at the time. It was strawberry quark in a ring-shaped cup, with a surprise figure in a can in the middle. Or chocolate UFOs filled with raspberry curd, there was also a figure in the box.

Background information: “Dr.Oetker” took over “Onken” in 2004. Since then there has been no more Frufoo Quark or chocolate UFOs. The trademark rights of Onken itself have been owned by “Emmi” since 2011.

“Frufoo” will no longer exist!

Dear Frufoo friends. As previously stated, Emmi has never manufactured Frufoo and has no facilities to manufacture the product. What is crucial for us, however, is that, in our understanding, Frufoo is not ecologically acceptable, especially because of the complex packaging. For this reason, we will not be re-launching Frufoo as it once was. In our opinion, filling it in another cup, possibly without a toy, is not the solution either. We hope for your understanding and remain with best regards, your Emmi team

Emmi's reputation management announced the following in 2012:

Abstract:

The investments for the production machines and the renewed market launch would simply not have been feasible for Emmi Germany financially and in terms of personnel.

as well as

The community was respected and rewarded for their commitment, while at the same time it was made clear that there will be no Frufoos in the refrigerator shelves in the future.
