The claim
A photo is said to show that despite the appearance of climate activist Greta Thunberg, a festival area was left completely littered.
Our conclusion
The photo is actually from the festival, but comes from 2015 and therefore has nothing to do with Thunberg and this year's festival.
Climate activist Greta Thunberg made a surprise appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival, not just as a guest, but also giving a speech .
But a photo should prove that it didn't have much effect, because the area looks completely trashed. However, the picture is from 2015.
The claim about the photo
The claim is particularly widespread in (political) circles that don't think much of climate protection:
In the most beautiful copy & paste style, the photos are described as follows:
“Greta Thunberg preaches about renunciation and environmental protection at the Glastonbury Festival in England.
The stupid crowd cheers. 2 days later the festival area looks like this (below). This mendacity of the pseudo-environmental and climate protectors (is pissing me off more and more/ aptly summarized in one picture/ ).”
The photo is from 2015
In 2015, Greta Thunberg was just 12 or 13 years old and certainly didn't appear at the Glastonbury festival - but the photo below of the littered area is from that year (see HERE ). According to the photo description, the photo was taken the morning after Lionel Richie's performance:

And what did it look like after the festival this year?
Things always look chaotic after a festival with 200,000 visitors and Glastonbury Festival is no exception. However, there is a small difference: many photos show how numerous volunteers clean up the area. These certainly exist at every other festival, but this year's event should be highlighted here so that people don't think that the clean-up is left to the organizers.

Conclusion
With the photos of Greta Thunberg and the photo of the Glastonbury Festival, certain circles want to (once again) give the impression that environmental and climate activists all preach water and drink wine. However, the photo is from 2015 and has nothing to do with this year's festival and the climate activist!
