A total of five different cases of internet fraud were reported to the police in Einbeck over the weekend.
As convenient as shopping on the Internet is, users are increasingly becoming victims of goods fraud outside of reputable sales platforms. The goods are paid for, but never reach the recipient, or something completely different is delivered. It is noticeable that many of the fraudsters are on eBay classifieds, as four of the five current cases show here.
Dog food instead of speakers
In the first case, a 17-year-old from Einbeck ordered two speakers worth EUR 420 via EBAY classifieds. After the money was transferred, the injured party received a package of wet dog food.

Non-existent company
In the second case, a 54-year-old victim from Einbeck ordered a games console worth 261.99 euros online. Unfortunately, it was only after the money had been transferred that the injured party discovered through her own research on the Internet that the company listed on the Internet did not actually exist and was a so-called “fake shop”.
No cellphone
In the third case, a 51-year-old woman from Einbeck purchased a cell phone worth 135 euros from eBay classifieds. The injured party then had an ID photo of the alleged seller sent to her and then unfortunately transferred the purchase price to the alleged seller without any further security for the purchase. The cell phone was not delivered and no further contact was made.

No WiFi repeater
In the fourth case, a 56-year-old victim from Dassel purchased a WLAN repeater from EBAY classifieds for EUR 40 and transferred the purchase price to the alleged seller without any further security for the purchase. The repeater has not yet been delivered.
No cell phone again
In the fifth case, a 51-year-old woman from Einbeck purchased a cell phone worth 200 euros from EBAY classifieds. The victim then had an ID photo of the alleged saleswoman sent to her and paid using so-called wish vouchers. Since the cell phone has not been delivered to date, fraud can also be assumed here.
