In a detailed text on an image, many numbers are listed that are intended to show how the British are “passively submitting to the Muslim invasion”.

The text doesn't skimp on numbers, so you actually get the impression that Muslims have a very big influence on Great Britain.
But as is the case with numbers and claims: there are almost never any references to sources on a picture, and very few people will take the time to check the information: it's in a picture, so it must be right.

This sharepic is:

A Muslim Invasion of Britain?

The text of the sharepic verbatim:

“How the British Passively Submitted to the Muslim Invasion:
Mayor of London….
MUSLIM Mayor of Birmingham….
MUSLIM Mayor of Leeds….
MUSLIM Mayor of Blackburn….
MUSLIM Mayor of Sheffield….
MUSLIM Mayor of Oxford….
MUSLIM Mayor of Luton….
MUSLIM Mayor of Oldham….
MUSLIM Mayor of Rochdale….
MUSLIM British Home Secretary Sajid Javid….. MUSLIM

Over 3,000 Muslim Mosques
Over 130 Muslim Sharia Courts
Over 50 Muslim Sharia Councils
Muslim-Only No-Go Districts across the UK
78% of Muslim Women….
do not work and receive social benefits/housing benefit Muslim families….
with 6-8 children who want to receive social benefits/housing benefit ….
and now all UK schools ONLY serve HALAL MEAT! All this was achieved by just 4 million Muslims out of a total population of 66 million!”

Below we will take a closer look at the individual claims.

The mayors

While in this country mayors are directly elected, in Great Britain there are two types of mayors: directly elected and so-called civil mayors. If you include these two types of mayors, all of these places actually have or have had a Muslim mayor at some point.

Directly elected mayors have only existed in Great Britain since the “ Local Government Act 2000 ”, before that and still in many places there are “civic mayors”, these are usually council members who have been in office for one year Take on the role of mayor and have a largely ceremonial role.
During his time as “Civic Mayor” he does not take part in the council’s political decisions.

In 2017, when the Sharepic first in English , there were 16 places with directly elected mayors and 7 directly elected “metro mayors”, for example the mayor of London, who is responsible for the entire place and its surroundings. Of these directly elected mayors, two are or were Muslim: Sadiq Khan, the current mayor of London, and Lutfur Rahman, mayor of the London borough of Tower Hamlets from 2010 to 2015.

Now about the “Civic Mayors”: Birmingham, Leeds, Blackburn, Darwen, Sheffield, Oxford, Luton, Oldham and Rochdale have actually had Muslim Mayors at various times.

The text of the sharepic is misleading in this respect:
the mayors were for the most part not directly elected, but rather determined by the council. In addition, they were all for a year and had a ceremonial function , but did not perform any political functions during that time.

The Minister of the Interior

The aforementioned Sajid Javid was the UK Home Secretary and has been Finance Minister since July 2019.
As far as his religion is concerned, he himself :

“My own family’s heritage is Muslim. Myself and my four brothers were raised to believe in God, but I do not practice any religion. My wife is a practicing Christian and the only religion practiced in my house is Christianity.”

The claim is therefore false .

The mosques

The number of mosques, like the number of churches and other houses of worship and places of worship, is difficult to determine because there is no compulsory, official record of them and the definition of “mosque” is wide-ranging, from rented rooms to buildings.

Cardiff University , whose site is regularly updated, writes of 1,600 mosques, while the “ Muslims in Britain ” site lists a total of 2,131 mosques and rented halls, but for Great Britain and Ireland as a whole. But every available source estimates between around 1,000 to 2,000 mosques, depending on the definition of what already counts as a mosque.

The stated number of 3,000 mosques is therefore too high.

The Sharia Courts and Councils

The distinction between Sharia courts and councils does not make much sense since both are established to make decisions according to Muslim religious law.
The internal procedures may differ, but they have the same (judicial) function externally. These courts mainly deal with purely religious questions. However, these are in no way formal courts and are therefore not above national law!

Here, too, there are no official figures as to how many actually exist, as they do not have to be officially registered. Research from the University of Reading assumes there are at least 30 main councils, but admits that there are also smaller, local Sharia councils.
More current figures put the number at 30 – 85 Sharia courts . As early as 2009, it was assumed that there were 85 Sharia courts, although this also included online forums.

There is no definitive number at all, just estimates. However, the numbers given in the Sharepic do not appear in any estimates and are too high .

The no-go districts

So-called “no-go districts” in Great Britain are said to be districts in which the police no longer operate and Sharia law alone applies; only Muslims should have access there.

As early as 2011, these no-go districts in London were repeatedly written about. An author on the site “ Bellingcat ” then investigated the claims on site in 2018. In summary, he was able to find out that all maps of the no-go districts come from right-wing populist and right-wing radical sources, but he could not find an actual no-go zone anywhere in London. On the contrary, most of the districts are only inhabited by a Muslim minority; Christians mostly live there.

Birmingham is also often claimed to have no-go areas, whereupon a resident on “ Quora ” describes in detail with photos and addresses of the supposed areas that are frowned upon for non-Muslims, that these are anything but no-go areas!

These rumors are repeatedly spread by the right, so that in 2018 a third of all Britons believed that such districts actually existed.
In 2015, Donald Trump fueled the myth by claiming that London had many no-go areas, to which the then mayor of London, Boris Johnson, countered that the whole of New York was a no-go area because you could meet Donald Trump there .

Some reporters also occasionally went looking for these districts, only to return empty-handed :
wherever it was claimed that there was a no-go zone in England or France, sometimes there was a larger proportion of Muslim residents determined, but otherwise these were all normal cities and districts.

The rumor about no-go districts in England can therefore be classified as false .

Unemployment among Muslims

In 2015, 16 percent of Muslim women and 11 percent of Muslim men were registered as unemployed.
58 percent of women and 24 percent of men were listed as unemployed, meaning they had no job and were not looking for employment. However, this also includes pupils, students and pensioners.

Overall, the rates are above the overall unemployment average of 5-6 percent in the same period, which is also due to the fact that Muslim women are more likely to be unemployed and unemployed, while Muslim men are less likely to be unemployed or unemployed than women become unemployed.

The claimed figure of 78 percent is therefore far too high .

The number of children in Muslim families

The last census in Great Britain took in 2011 . It was determined there that the average household has 1.8 children and the average Muslim household has 2.3 children .

The claimed number of 6-8 children per household is therefore far too high .

Halal meat in schools

In the UK there are food standards that every school must adhere to . However, in addition to the points about always offering a certain amount of vegetables, fruits and meat, there is no instruction stating that halal meat must be offered.

However, as early as 2010, primary schools in the London region were offered the option of only offering halal meat, alongside vegetarian food and fish, by the catering company Harrison Catering Services. The offer was also accepted by some schools, and there were no complaints about it at the time.

The claim that all schools in England only have halal meat is false !
In general, the food supply to schools in England is tied to certain foods, but the funding lies with the schools themselves, so certain options, such as halal meat, are voluntary. However, halal meat is not one of the foods that must be offered.

The number of Muslims in Britain

According to the latest statistics from 2018, there are 3.4 million Muslims living in the UK, the total population is 65.3 million.

Here too, the figure of 4 million Muslims was exaggerated .

Conclusion

Overall, one can say that all claims and figures in the Sharepic are either misleading or false!
