Due to the opening of the Turkish borders, eyes are once again on refugees. Refugees on their way to Greece. That is a fact.

The information about the video from Greece in the summary:

The video does not show any clashes between refugees and the police. Although it was recorded in Greece, it dates back to the time of the 2011 general strikes.

However, this fact is also dramatized with the help of false reports. One such hoax depicts the riot-like description through a threatening-looking video.

You can see angry protests in the video. A police officer on fire, sirens can be heard in the background. The situation looks like a civil war and is currently taking place in Greece.

Based on certain details in the video, you can definitely tell that this video was shot in Greece. For example, on a poster that can be seen in the video and clearly shows Greek capital letters.

Greece 2020? Be careful, a hybrid fake!

As hybrid fakes we describe false reports that basically contain a true component, but are always manipulated with false information and are therefore false in their entire presentation.

Hybrid fakes are part of the conscious manipulation and disinformation on social media and are often used for manipulative purposes on social media. This is also the case with the video from Greece.

[mk_ad]

This video itself is real and actually comes from Greece. This is the real component of the hybrid fake. What is wrong, however, is that it would be a current video.

At this point the fake is exposed: The video was recorded in 2011 and must be placed in the context of the general strikes at that time. In the course of these strikes, there were clashes between the police and the demonstrators, as described by SPIEGEL, among others, in an article entitled “Greece stands still – stones are flying instead” ( here ).

The same applies to the video: You can find the video on YouTube with a timestamp from 2011. This shows that it is definitely not current and at the same time does not show any attacks on the police by refugees in Greece.
