The claim

According to a video report from Euronews, you can see an alleged manure attack by French farmers on the Ukrainian embassy in Paris.

Our conclusion

Careful reviews reveal that the video is a fake, with no connection to real events or statements made by the people mentioned in it.

In a video currently circulating, you can see an alleged manure attack by French farmers on the Ukrainian embassy in Paris. This video, purportedly produced by Euronews, shows a vehicle spraying manure on a building and incorrectly quotes the head of the French agricultural union FNSEA

The spread of such false reports can have far-reaching consequences, not only for those directly involved, but also for trust in the media landscape as a whole.

What are we talking about?

The video circulating on social media claims that French farmers dumped manure in front of the Ukrainian embassy in Paris in protest. This action was in response to an alleged request by embassy officials that the demonstrators should disperse. The video suggests that it is Euronews reporting and shows an alleged document from the Ukrainian ambassador as well as quotes from the FNSEA head.

Our review of the video report

A thorough examination shows that the video is fake: Euronews never published such reporting, and there was no such incident outside the Ukrainian embassy. The document shown in the video and the statements quoted are also fictional. In fact, the video shows a completely different protest that took place in Dijon in December 2023 and had nothing to do with Ukraine.

  • The real scene : The manure action shown in the video actually took place in Dijon, as a protest against delayed aid for young farmers, not in front of the Ukrainian embassy.
  • False documents and quotes : Both the document shown in the video and the FNSEA chief's statements have been identified as forgeries.
