Healing water – approved medicinal product

To be considered medicinal water, water must contain a minimum content of one gram of dissolved minerals per liter. This is significantly more than is contained in most conventional mineral waters.

Medicinal waters must have a proven health-promoting effect and are even considered medicinal. Therefore they must be approved by the Federal Institute for Medicines.

Prevent and combat diseases

Some people firmly believe that water from healing springs can prevent and even combat illness. Studies at the Mineral and Healing Water Competence Center at the University of Hanover also prove the positive effect.

Depending on their composition, the healing waters have an effect on metabolism and circulation, kidneys and urinary tract, liver and bile, as well as stomach and intestines. The most important minerals are calcium, magnesium, chloride, sulfate and hydrogen carbonate.

Different minerals, different effect

Especially in the case of digestive problems, the right water can supplement or even completely replace medications and at the same time have a positive influence on the liver. If you have constipation, you should make sure to drink magnesium or calcium sulfate or water containing sodium sulfate. For complaints such as heartburn, water containing bicarbonate. Bicarbonate is a basic element that balances acidity and can therefore combat heartburn.

Be patient

There are people who drink medicinal water as a preventive measure in order to be well supplied with minerals.
Anyone who wants to use them to combat diseases needs patience, because in some cases an effect only becomes apparent after several weeks. To be on the safe side, taking it over a longer period of time should always be discussed with a doctor beforehand.
