Heating plugs, very small and wireless, supposedly use hardly any electricity, reduce heating costs and cause no noise. However, when you buy these “miracle devices” you are wasting your money because you will receive a device that is not functional, if at all. Mimikama cooperation partner Watchlist Internet took a closer look at these products.
Heating plugs supposedly save 30% on heating costs
“Heat any room and save 30% on your heating bill.”
advertising slogans
This is how online shops market the portable heaters “Ultraheat Pro” or “Valty Heater”. Sounds very tempting in times of an energy crisis, but is dubious. Our tip: Don't be fooled by unrealistic advertising promises, you'll only lose your money!

Lots of promises – nothing behind them
The energy-efficient heating plug is advertised on countless websites. Thanks to a generous 50% discount, the device costs around 60 euros. A bargain when you think about the heating costs we will incur. The heaters called “Ultraheat Pro”, “Valty Heater” or “Alpha Heater” are real miracle devices because they warm up rooms in less than 2 minutes - without causing your electricity costs to explode. If that works? Hardly likely!
Shops based in Hong Kong
The shops ultraheatpro.com and valty-heater.com list their headquarters in Hong Kong. However, we know from experience that orders from so-called “China shops” cause numerous problems. Not only does delivery take forever, you usually don't receive the product you want, but rather inferior, non-functional goods. A return is usually not possible because the online shop cannot be reached, does not provide a return address or the return costs are higher than the product cost. Unfortunately, in many cases you will be left with your own costs, as enforcing your legal right of withdrawal is very difficult for shops outside the EU or “China shops”.
Ordering from a “China shop” can cause numerous problems. In this article we have summarized all the problems and risks for you .
I have ordered: what can I do?
- Paid with a credit card? Contact your credit card provider and describe the situation. Request a refund of the amount. There is no legal right to this, but you can seek a goodwill solution.
- Be careful of unjustified charges on your credit card, as criminals may have gained access to them through your order. According to § 67 ZaDiG 2018, amounts that were debited without your consent must be refunded by your payment service provider!
- Paid with PayPal? Try to get your money back through Buyer Protection .
- File a police report .
