A video that has been circulating on Facebook since the beginning of 2018 is causing the wildest speculations!
A cruel trick of nature? Or a genetic engineering toy? Maybe an April Fool's joke?
We're getting more inquiries about that video of a strange animal, but first take a look at it for yourself:
There were already photos of this animal (or one that looks exactly the same) in 2017, we reported back then. The description was clearer:
“??Wait a minute…!!?? This will take revenge…!! This is a breed of dog and goat...!! See also hybrid creatures/Chiemeren. ..?”
And what is that now?
It's not a mix of dog and goat, we can tell you that. Aside from the fact that it is biologically impossible to cross both species and create a viable animal due to the very different sets of chromosomes (goat: 60 dog: 78 chromosomes), it doesn't make much sense unless you want to have a dog goat , who herds other goats. Or a goat retrieving sticks. Or a blind goat. Or a rescue goat for mountain areas.
In fact, welcome to the wonderful world of biological racial diversity, this is a Damascus goat . This breed is commonly found in Lyria, Cyprus and Lebanon and are used for milk production.

What's noticeable, in addition to the large skull, are her long ears, which appear to have been shortened on the animal in the video.
The calves of the Damascus goat are more like a Pokémon:

So no genetic experiment, no mutation, no alien: just an unusual-looking breed of goat.
