Every like is worth $1 donated to the treatment of a poor dog with a burnt face?

This scam obviously works just as well in 2018 as it did in 2015...

We received requests for a status post on Facebook, which has now been shared over 134,000 times! Pure madness when you consider what it's actually about.

At first glance, you could assume that the author of the post thought that the dog's face was “burnt” and that the poor animal had to be helped. It's about this post, which is currently circulating again on Facebook:

Image in plain text:

This pooch burned his face in a fire while trying to save his owner. For every share and like, $1 will be donated towards his treatments.

Well, what can you say... at second glance it becomes clear that this dog is perfectly healthy because:

It is a clickbait/hoax – false news!

Actually, what we see here is a dog with a piece of cooked ham on its face !

According to colleague Andre, the photo was already 5 years old in 2015.

The whole truth

But the ham is only half the story. The whole truth is that Facebook users actually BELIEVE stolen photo with a made-up story like crazy! Of course, people who find the whole thing just too funny also share the status post, but it is and remains false news - and there are users who really sympathize and believe this lie.

And it's pure disgrace to claim that $1 is donated for sharing or liking. From whom? The post creator? Facebook? It's not technically possible. There is no algorithm that can do something like this. Because if Facebook or someone else were so generous and donated at least a cent every time someone shared or liked a post from us... you probably wouldn't even read this post here.
