Anyone hoping to make easy money on survey platforms could be disappointed. It is not uncommon for the survey job to turn out to be identity theft.

As our cooperation partner Watchlist Internet warns, users are currently coming across advertisements for survey jobs in various job portals. When you register you are asked for a copy of your ID and this leads to identity theft.

Don't register here! Criminals steal your data and disguise opening a bank account in your name as a paid survey:

In the video, the Watchlist Internet deals with fraudulent survey platforms that promise you easy additional income, but are actually after a bank account in your name. To illustrate this, let’s look at the criminals’ approach using study-string.com as an example.

In summary:

Be careful when applying to survey platforms! If the alleged employer claims to want to verify your identity and asks for your identification documents - be suspicious.

The submitted identification documents are used by the fraudsters to apply for a bank account in your name. In order to finally activate the account, a video identification process is necessary and this is where the survey comes into play!

The fraudster tricks you into believing that you are supposed to test and evaluate a video identification process for a bank. In order for the procedure to be carried out seriously, you are not allowed to identify yourself as the test subject and the trap will then close:

Unknowingly, you confirm a bank account in your name. The criminals can then use this account for crimes such as money laundering.

If you have fallen victim to this scam, report it to the police immediately and describe everything that happened in as much detail as possible. This way the authorities know about possible misuse of your identity.

Also contact your bank where you opened the account as part of the alleged survey. Have it blocked immediately to avoid further damage and clarify the next steps with the police and bank.
