No stone is left unturned to turn bad events onto your own agenda!

A site known for fake news claims that the shooting spree in Volkmarsen was “Muslim terror”

A single foreign site is cited as the source, but it does not provide any sources for the claim.
However, the perpetrator is now known; 29-year-old Maurice P. has so far only attracted criminal attention for minor crimes.

In Volkmarsen, northern Hesse, a man drove a car into a crowd on Shrove Monday 2020 There were several injured, including children. Now one side is claiming that this was an Islamist attack.

For example, the website “ Politsticker ” claims under the heading “ Muslim terror at the Rose Monday parade ” that there are reports abroad that the perpetrator is a Muslim, while only “West television” reports of a German perpetrator.

The “Politsticker” page is another project of the right-wing radical, who is known to the police, and on which he also spreads this fake news.

The foreign source

While the short and tendentious article only writes about “foreign newspapers” (i.e. plural), it only cites a single source: The site “ The Jewish Collective ,” which itself disagrees about where this happened: in the headline it is “Vokmarsen”, in the article “Valkmarse” instead of “Volkmarsen”, even though the name of the city can be clearly seen in the picture used on a fire engine.

It is unclear whether the article from the associated page “Behind the News” was posted intentionally or “infiltrated,” as the page itself states on Facebook that it was hacked on the same day the article was published. A source for the claim in the article is not mentioned.

The perpetrator has been caught - and all witnesses are silent?

This is the impression that various political sites seem to want to create and share the article without reservation. It's not as if there weren't dozens upon dozens of witnesses to the crime and the alleged perpetrator was arrested on site.

As the North Hesse-Kassel Police Headquarters reports , the perpetrator is a 29-year-old German citizen from Volkmarsen. Maurice P., his name, is known to the police , but he is not yet ready for questioning. The investigation is currently ongoing and it is not currently assumed that the crime was politically motivated.

Conclusion

The findings so far paint a clearer picture: Maurice P. does not necessarily have a Muslim-sounding name, and in the past he has attracted police attention for insults, trespassing and coercion. He was not under the influence of alcohol while driving, the results of the drug tests are still pending and there is no statement from the perpetrator yet.

Therefore, the claim that it was a religiously motivated act by an extremist Muslim is false !
